After staying for a week in a developed Forest Service campground, I was looking for an out-of-the-way campsite to spend my last night. I found it by searching the topo map of the Inyo National Forest. This spot is miles from paved road and to my delight gets few visitors. The photo includes Jupiter to the right of the Milky Way, and there is a meteor, too.

This place felt like a faraway anchorage.

Not only were we able to get on the island again, it took less than two months for the National Park Service to open it back up. This trip saw extremely high tides, and we had to nestle as close to the dunes as we could. But we were back at our favorite paradise! And, we saw at least four other Lance truck campers that weekend!

#611 - Marco PijnackerAdvocate Harbour, Nova Scotia2019 Ford F-3502018 AdventurerCamera Used - Panasonic DC-TZ90Hello from The Netherlands. I took this picture at a great campground named The Old Shipyard Beach Campground. It was our (my wife and I) last stop after a six week 9,320 kilometer trip. This trip was a test, and we traveled from Vancouver to Halifax in this great camper rented from FraserWay (a real great company). Over the last 30 years we have rented all kind of campers (big and small) and vans. This was our first time renting a truck camper and we loved it. Super! This is a great way for two people to travel in the USA and Canada. Therefore we are now seriously reading Truck Camper Magazine, because in two years, we will retire and like to buy a truck camper in the USA and travel for a long time. Over the last 30 years we have been in all 50 States (49 in a camper; Hawaii in rental cars and Airbnbs), nine Canadian provinces and one territory, the Yukon. However, our main goal is to visit all 61 National Parks in the USA and the 48 in Canada plus all the State/Provincial Capitals.

#627 - Mickey WillenbringNavajo Nation, Arizona2016 Ram 25002018 Capri RetreatCamera Used - Nikon D750Every year, my now teenage son and I hitch the stock trailer up to the truck and drive cross country to sell, buy, and trade Navajo-Churro Sheep in the four corners area of Navajo Nation. We used to sleep in our truck or tent camp on BLM land, but after buying our custom Capri Camper, we find life a whole lot happier in our Retreat. We really appreciate being able to have a safe place to store the handwoven Navajo rugs and the handmade Navajo jewelry that we often take in trade for our sheep, and knowing that we can pull over anywhere makes the long nights of driving solo go by a lot easier. Navajo Nation is a beautiful place to travel through, spanning across several states and incorporating all the ethereal beauty of the desert and the stark majesty of the mountains, but with distances often measured in hours instead of miles due to the terrain, and a serious lack of hotels or campgrounds, having the camper greatly increases our ease of access.

I started in a rain shower and as I was cresting this hill the lighting was so dramatic, I quickly pulled over to grab this snap shot with my Sony A6000. I take this hiking and mountain bike riding and luckily had it in the passenger’s seat. One thing I love about my popup camper setup is how easy it is to pick up and go. It's as comfortable on the interstate, scenic byways or forest services roads.

#632 - Scott HallenbergFruita, Colorado2017 Chevy Silverado 35002019 Hallmark MilnerCamera Used - Nikon D850One of the really unique features I love about my Hallmark Milner is its sturdy one piece roof designed and lifting mechanism. While the roof supports a lot of weight, Hallmark installed a Lewmar Skylight for me in my build. This is typically used on the bow of ocean going sailboats for passing sails from below decks to be hoisted. Having it on my camper lets me clearly view the night sky while in bed and even better I can easily access the roof for either wildlife or night sky photography. I shot this picture with my Nikon D850 with remote control. I decided to be the model for this one to reinforce all the weight the roof can actually support!

#633 - Scott HallenbergOuray, Colorado2017 Chevy Silverado 35002019 Hallmark MilnerCamera Used - Nikon D810One of the great things about my Hallmark Milner popup camper is I really can go just about anywhere with and be comfortable when I get there. I found this camping spot just south of Ouray off a forest service road. I was doing a photo tour of the San Juan Skyway at the end of September. The daytime temps were a warm in 70s with night time trip dropping into the low 30s especially when camping at 9200 feet. So having a rig that can easily handle a range of conditions, navigate rutted roads, and be comfortable in just about any camp spot is liberating. It's the ultimate in flexibility and makes chasing the peak colors of Fall a lot of fun.

We had been traveling all over Oregon and were simply blown away by the landscape. It seemed so surreal how you could be on a snow-covered trail in the mountains and be headed for the sunny oceanside all in the same day. On this particular morning, we woke up in our truck camper after a heavy snowfall in the mountains, and thought it’d be the perfect day to going surfing on the coast. After a full day of surfing, we watched the sun fall behind the horizon and thought to ourselves that life could not get much better than this!

We couldn’t see a damn thing and weren’t really sure if we were in the correct area. Our only option was to call it a night and hope for the best come morning. 6:00am and our alarms were buzzing. We watched the sun set fire to this enchanting landscape and felt like we had these entire backroads to ourselves. It’s pretty incredible to think of the scenarios you can find yourself in, when you opt for the more adventurous route..rather than staying in a hotel.
