We were amazed at how many of you sent in satellite photos of your truck campers from space. When we posted Friday’s story, “Contest: Truck Campers From Space” we had our doubts if anyone would actually enter. Even before the email alerts had been sent out, our first entry had come in.
Several readers even sent in Google Map “Street Views” showing their truck camper. Street Views are ground level images that have been taken from vehicles with 360-degree cameras. See the last three images for examples. Other readers used alternative souces of satellite images including Microsoft Live Search Maps.
Here are the satellite and street view images sent in by our readers:
And the winner is…
Gary and Hazel Birrenkott of Snohomish, Washington!
Congratulations, Gary and Hazel! For your prize, we are sending you a copy of the 2007 Truck Camper Magazine Yearbook. We selected this satellite image because (a) you can really see that it’s a truck camper, (b) there’s a boat showing off one of the many reasons why truck campers rock – towing, and (c) we just liked it, a lot. Thanks to everyone who entered for making this one of our most successful contests.
Here’s another look at Gary and Hazel’s winning shot:
