Camping with fly rods can be dangerous to my wife and the rod (if I should break one).  So I came up with a solution for outside storage while my rods are in use.  This modification is not for traveling storage.

Fly Fishing Rod Display Store Hangers

I obtained two pegboard-style clothes display hangers from a fly fishing shop.  I asked to buy them.   The owner said “No, but you can have them”.   I hooked them on the brackets under the extended slide-out.  Viola – a 4-rod hanger!

Fly Fishing Rods Hanging On Camper Wing

It’s a wonderful easy solution for delicate rods.  Also, storing them overnight keeps them from being sandblasted by the nightly winds at our usual desert fishing lake.  It also keeps them out from underfoot.

Fly Rods Secured While Camping

It took me one hour to complete this modification and cost me about $10.  In my opinion, the skill level of this modification is easy.
