2025 Truck Camper Buyers Guide and Gear Guide Announced

The 2025 Buyers Guide has been majorly overhauled with ten new specification and capacity categories including cabover height, dinette bed size, toilet type, shower locations, cabover type, jack type, and specifics on inverters, solar, batteries, and warranty.

2025 Buyers And Gear Guide Announcement

We launched the original version of the truck camper buyers guide almost fifteen years ago. That first incarnation was basic by today’s standards, but was an enormous leap forward for truck camping kind. Never before had there been one place to check out the makes, models, specifications, and capacities of the truck camper marketplace. To make the Buyers Guide even more powerful, it was free and online for everyone to access from anywhere.

Over the years we’ve added dozens of new camper manufacturers, kept the prices, weights, and specs current, enhanced the data with wet weight calculations, and inserted links to industry announcements and reviews for the models we have them for. The buyers guide is a ton of work that requires intensive communications with the industry, but it’s well worth the effort.

Ten New Specifications and Capacity Categories

Taking a step back, we realized that the core of the Buyers Guide—the main specifications and capacities categories—were relatively unchanged since the Buyers Guide launched in 2010. In the meantime, truck campers have massively changed.

For example, some campers are 100 percent modular or all-electric and thus don’t have propane tanks. Lithium batteries are now being shipped standard by some companies. Solar panels are not only standard on many campers, but the number of panels and wattage is an important facet. Where nearly all refrigerators were absorption models, more and more are 12-volt compressor refrigerators. And the type of toilet has changed, going from holding tanks or cassettes to a wide range of options. There’s more, but you get the idea.

Angela not only initiated this massive upgrade, but worked directly with the camper and gear manufacturers to meticulously update the 2025 Truck Camper Buyers Guides and Gear Guides. On behalf of truck camping kind, thank you, Angela!
