Wardrobe LED Light Installation
2017 Ram 2500
2017 Cirrus 820
For my wardrobe, I purchased a LED light and switch from Amazon.
As you can see in the picture, I routed the wiring to the side and down the closet side with an existing wire loom that runs to the outside camera. So it exits high in my wardrobe closet.
I attached this with two stainless steel wood screws and adjusted the light to go off when the door closes.
In the picture above you can see the existing wire loom and how I ran it down the side through the cable ties. Then, I ran the wire past the bottom of the closet into the exterior storage bay below the cabinet.
On my camper, there are three storage bays on top of each other with outside access. I ran this past the first or top bay into the second bay where this wire loom also ran into.
The second bay houses the Rieco-Titan electric panel for my jacks. There was access to a 12-volt source that was fused. I attached the light to that source.
I now have great lighting in what once was a dark cabinet.
The light install only took 1.5-hours. The light was $23.40 on Amazon. This modification was not hard, but it took some time to run the lines down the cabinet and into the storage box. I made multiple trips inside and outside the camper to install the wiring, pull wire, and to secure it back so it did not protrude into the closet or storage bays.
In my opinion, this is an easy mod and quite rewarding.
