Rollerama Toilet Roll Problem Solved

I did this mod to improve the human experience in our camper bathroom. The toilet paper didn’t roll well when it was on its side in the holder.

My husband is a pretty handy guy. I’m not sure if he came up with this idea while sitting on the throne or while transporting precious rolls of toilet paper to the bathroom. His mind is always thinking of ways to solve infinite problems, or how to do things in a more proficient manner.

Possible solutions included changing the toilet paper holder to the door. That approach was rejected because it would be in the way of knees in tight quarters.

Another possibility was changing to a horizontal position in the same spot on the right wall inside the cupboard. That approach was also rejected as there would probably be awkward roll tracking. There was no other wall available. If there had been, Bigfoot would have seen the spot.

Rollerama Toilet Paper Unrolling Problem Use A Margarine Lid

Our solution was to take one large margarine container lid and trim it to the perfect size; slightly bigger than the toilet paper roll. We trimmed any sharp edges of the plastic and placed it under the roll.

Now the roll sits nicely with the trimmed margarine lid providing some support to keep the toilet paper roll gliding smoothly.

There is less frustration, and it soothes any jagged nerves while trying to relax and find Zen in our tiny camper bathroom. With this success, my husband’s track record remains unbroken.

Rollerama Toilet Paper Rolls Like Normal

The materials you need are one large margarine lid and scissors. Just look for the correct size lid in your jumble of a container drawer.

Since this modification was completed, it’s been smooth sailing.

It took 15 minutes to complete this modification and cost me $0.  In my opinion, the skill level of this modification is easy as long as you passed scissor skills in nursery school.

Warning: Do not run with scissors while attempting this project.
