We have limited counter space in our kitchen area. While we could use the dinette table to prepare food, it’s too high to be practical.

Removable Countertop Sink Cutting Board

Our camper came with a sink cover, which I converted to a removable countertop. After much thought, I installed some channels on the countertop using material from a home improvement store.

Removable Countertop Bracket

Then I put an L-bracket on the top of the sink cover and another piece on the bottom which would be used as a stop for the support.

Removable Countertop wood angled

The support was a piece of 1-inch by 4-inch wood, which I angled at each end.

Removable Countertop Bracket In Place

The removable countertop is rock solid when installed and you can still squeak by to get to the bed area while it’s up. It makes cooking much easier!

Removable Countertop Extension

It took me three hours to complete this modification and cost me $20.  In my opinion, the skill level of this modification is medium.
