Old Jet Aircraft Truck Camper Dolly
2015 Ford F-250
2023 Palomino HS-8801
I wanted something that sat just a little lower than the truck bed so the jacks don’t have to work as much putting the camper back in the truck.
I made it from an old jet aircraft dolly. I added a wooden deck, 5K scissor jacks—one end of each side—and welded cleats to tie it down.
It works great. I drop the camper off, roll the dolly under it, get the camper at the right level, and lower it right onto the dolly support. I run the jacks up a little for rain runoff and it’s good to go.
The wood from old trailer loaders and the parts from Harbor Freight cost me about $70, plus $300 for the dolly.
It took me five hours to complete this modification.
