Above: The old magazine rack
The old magazine rack in our camper only held one magazine and a small book. With this mod, we can hold a bunch of books, magazines, and campground flyers – and still have room.
I went to Home Depot and bought two pieces of pine. I measured the area I needed and built the rack as big as possible to fit in the space. I sprayed the rack a nice espresso color and topped it with polyurethane to eliminate chips or mars from use. I attached it to the wall and – voila! We now have more usable space.
It works great!. All our books, maps, and crossword magazines fit nicely.
For this mod I used two pieces of pine trim, one can of espresso spray paint and one can of polyurethane.
It took me five hours to complete this modification and cost me $25 dollars. In my opinion, the skill level of this modification is easy.
