How often have you been searching for something that’s buried in the back of your cabinets only to have to find a flashlight to see if you can spy out what you’re looking for? Here’s a very quick and simple fix.

Before the LEPOTEC 30 LED Motion Sensor Cabinet Light

I was inspired by Scout Campers that use USB-charged lights as the primary cabin lights. After doing some research on Amazon, I found these great little USB charged lights. They had the highest rating and, according to the documentation, last up to six months. I’ve had mine installed for about two months and they’ve worked fantastic.

The installation of the lights was simple and straightforward. Adequate documentation is supplied with the lights to provide guidance on how to install and maintain them.

They come with a metal bar and double-back sticky foam pads. The metal bar is positioned to where you want the light to be.

The lights themselves are magnetic and magnetically attach to the metal strips. The lights are easily removable when they need to be charged.

The switch on the lights has three positions; off, on continuously, or motion sensor. I like the motion sensor position because as soon as we open our kitchen cabinet or storage cabinet, the lights immediately come on and stay on while we’re in the cabinet. After we close the cabinet, they cut off automatically after about twenty seconds.

We have thoroughly enjoyed these lights, particularly the one installed in a deep kitchen cabinet. It was difficult to see what was stored in the back of it. I also installed one in an outside storage space. These lights greatly help in finding the items that we were looking for, particularly at night.

These lights are available on Amazon and, at the time I bought them, they sold for $21.95 for a pair. They had a five percent discount and worked out to be roughly $10 a piece.

It took me approximately 10 minutes per light to complete this modification.
