Camper Shell Build Out
2014 Toyota Tacoma
2012 Four Wheel Camper Eagle

We were planning a trip on the Pan American Highway leaving from Canada, and we needed a reliable vehicle. We decided to take our Toyota Tacoma, but we needed a lightweight camper. Options were limited and time was short, so we bought a Four Wheel Camper Eagle shell build.

During the summer of 2022, we fully built out the interior to include running water, a side table dinette (pictured below), new electrical work, a refrigerator, and new paint.
It started with a plan of how we wanted things to be organized in the camper. Looking through pictures and watching numerous YouTube videos on how to do certain things really helped.
It took around four sheets of plywood to create the interior.
We measured, cut, sanded, painted, and sealed every single piece that we needed.
The countertop was created from a pine veneer, like the table, and we used an entire can of butcher block for a total of five coats.
The wiring was all moved around as we wanted the battery compartment on the opposite side of where it was originally.
We also upgraded the charge controller, added a DC charger, upgraded the lights, and added a USB charger.

The build-out has worked out extremely well, but there are some things we would like to change.
For example, we wished we had insulated the floor and created a water inlet on the outside to fill the fresh water.
