Your Questions for the Truck Manufacturers

Next Thursday, we are attending a special Chevrolet event in Detroit for the debut the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 series trucks.  We expect to see an updated exterior and interior and hope for news about a new small-block V8 engine, possibly a new V6, and improved overall fuel efficiency ratings.

We’re also going to take a serious look at the new truck’s payload ratings and talk to the attending GM engineers about topics related to truck campers.  For starters, we hope to find out exactly how payload capacities are calculated, a question we’ve been asking the truck manufacturers for many years.

In the coming months we hope to be invited to more truck events including product debuts from Ford, Dodge, and Toyota.  We would jump on any opportunity to talk with these companies about their trucks and the vibrant truck camper marketplace and community.

Which brings us to this week’s Question of the Week.  “What questions would you like to ask the truck manufacturers?”  Since this subject is important to both industry and consumers, industry and consumers are both welcome to send questions.

We will do our best to get your questions answered, although we need to caution that we have never attended a truck debut and don’t know what kind of access to expect, or how open they will be to our questions.  There’s only one way to find out.
