It’s probably important to state—upfront—my own personal struggles with technology. For example, I am fascinated with state-of-the-art cameras, computers, and cars, but often prefer proven products and technology abandoned by the masses. I not only have a turntable and records, but I also have vacuum tube amplifiers. I have a mirrorless camera, but I am really starting to miss my DSLR. When I’m not truck camping, I drive a 2006 Lexus with a tape deck, and I love that feature. That’s me.

As the Publisher of Truck Camper Magazine, I enjoy learning about and experiencing the latest tech and innovations in the truck camper world. During my tenure, LED lighting, solar panels, lithium batteries, and smartphone campsite apps have fundamentally changed—and dramatically improved—our ability to go anywhere and camp anywhere. I may have an antiquated bent, but there’s no returning to incandescent lights and paper maps.

The truck camper industry is at a tipping point with technology. Nearly every old-school component in a camper has either already been replaced by a more advanced and computer-controlled system or is about to be. All-electric truck campers from nuCamp, Kingstar, Outpost, Scout, and more are now available. Electric trucks are not ready to handle the great majority of truck campers, but we now see electric trucks from Ford, Chevrolet, Rivian, and Tesla driving on our roads and highways. Some of these trucks even have self-driving features. Like it or not, technology is rapidly changing the truck camper marketplace.

The question is, what’s our attitude towards this changing camper technology? Put another way, it’s time to check your future camper tech attitude!

The poll is now closed.  Results will be posted on January 31st.
