Do You Use Your Dinette As A Bed?

About three years ago we invited my dad to join us for the Gettysburg North-East Truck Camping Jamboree.  He had never met our fellow truck camping friends, and Gettysburg was only about two hours from his house.  For the three day rally, dad stayed in our converted dinette.  That was his first time ever sleeping in a truck camper, and his first rally.

Our full-booth dinette converts into a bed in about two minutes and is actually quite comfortable.  Angela and I have slept in our dinette on two occasions; once because it was extremely cold and the main living area of the camper warmer, and once because we were moving and had the cabover full of stuff.

We will also use the dinette bed when one of us is sick.  Two years ago I caught a nasty cold while camping in Florida.  Since I needed to get up throughout the night, I stayed in the cabover.  We will also stay in the dinette if one of us is having back issues and doesn’t want to attempt the cabover climb.  Fortunately, this a rare occurrence.

This week’s Question of the Week is, “Do you use your dinette as a bed?

If you do use your dinette as a bed, please tell us who uses it (yourself, spouse, kids, friends, pets, etc.) and why.

This QOTW is now closed.  Here are the responses to this week’s poll – Dinette Beds For Truck Campers.
