Long time reader and 2014 Mod Contest winner Charlie Coushaine emailed us this week to explore the idea of organizing a professionally guided 2017 Alaska Truck Camping Tour.
Here’s Charlie’s email:
“Have you ever wanted to go to Alaska with your truck camper but thought the trip too daunting? Were you afraid you might go and not see some of the best sights? Were you worried about the rough roads, lack of cell phone coverage, or breaking down in total wilderness?
Worry no more! We have arranged to fill an entire 37 day Alaskan tour with only truck campers! This tour will be limited to the first twenty-eight to sign up. It will be run by a professional Alaska tour guide with thirty years of Alaska tours under his belt, and his team is the best!

The tour guide arranges everything and provides daily narration via special walkie talkies during the drives. These narrations range from local geography and history, to native Alaskans, animals and cloud formations!
The tour guide has a full-time mechanic that goes with the tour to perform any needed RV repairs on the road if necessary. He also provides a tailgunner who is a previous tour attendee that goes as part of the tour staff and handles all campground reservations, registrations, and any other tour needs. In addition, he provides doggie day care for pets while you are off on the daily sightseeing tours.

The tour starts in Hazelton, British Columbia and ends in Kenai, Alaska, allowing you plenty of time to further explore Alaska on your own. When the tour ends in early July, the weather will be perfect, and you will be with friends. Go explore!
The tour is scheduled to run June 1st to July 7th, 2017. The tour fee is on par with what you would expect from a 37 day luxury cruise and includes all the campgrounds, several group meals, many tours and special local guests. You must book by January 1, 2016.
I have taken this tour in 2014 and it was fantastic! It was so good that I want to go back again with my fellow truck campers to document this journey via daily online video logs that you can share with your relatives back home.
I guarantee this will be one of the best truck camper experiences of your life! What could be better than a stress free drive through America’s Last Frontier with your fellow truck camper friends? Please feel free to email me to discuss my Alaska adventure, or if you have any questions!”
