We have been actively pitching truck camper news to the RV industry media for years. A good number of RV industry journalists subscribe to Truck Camper Magazine and some even re-post our news on their websites now and then. As far as we’re concerned, more quality truck camper coverage from RV media is good for everybody.
Of all the RV media, RV Pro has always shown the most interest and respect for truck campers over the past decade or so. This is evidenced by their semi-annual deep-dive article coverage on the truck camper marketplace and players. For their research, they always contact us asking what’s hot and trending in the truck camper world. It’s actually a lot of fun to stop and look at everything from a 50,000-foot level, and humbling to be respected as an expert by a fellow journalist.
This past December, Brad Worrell, Editor of RV Pro, emailed us about an unrelated matter, and then – at long last – gave us the pitch we’d been hoping for. Brad wrote, “I had been meaning to reach out to you to ask if you would be up for doing an extended Q&A with us where you could talk about how your pub got started, share some of your data on the truck camper market, and talk a bit about how you would like for RVIA and Go RVing to do a better job of recognizing the truck camper market. Would that be of interest to you?”
Well, Brad, we’re awfully busy, running a magazine and all, but… oh heck, we’ll do it!
I’ve always thought the story of how Truck Camper Magazine got started, made it through the recession, and helped the truck camper marketplace re-emerge as a quiet powerhouse was a good story. Actually, I think it’s a fantastic story, but I may be biased in this opinion.
We were interviewed by RV Pro contributor, Ronnie Wendt. She asked us a wide range of questions and got some details about us and our magazine that we’ve never shared before.
We want to thank Brad and Ronnie for the opportunity, and for continuing to objectively and accurately cover the truck camper marketplace. While this particular article and interview focuses on Truck Camper Magazine, it’s also about the truck camper sector and where it stands in the greater RV industry. Thank you, RV Pro!
