Northern Lite has boosted its maximum lithium battery capacity by 50 percent. All Sportsman Plus and Limited Edition models now have an optional 900Ah Lithium Power System. Serious off-grid air conditioning, anyone?

When Northern Lite announced its 600Ah Lithium Power System last August, we were positively surprised by the capability and price. Far more than just bigger batteries, it was a complete system designed to expand what’s possible off-grid.
Less than a year later, Northern Lite takes this a step further: 300Ah further. So what does 900Ah of lithium power mean for Northern Lite buyers? More capability for 110-volt appliances like an air conditioner or microwave and less stress managing your power.

The optional 600Ah and 900Ah Lithium Power Systems include a 3000-watt inverter/charger, 660-watts of solar, a DC-to-DC charger, a 40-amp MPPT controller, and a Truma Combi Eco Plus furnace and hot water system. The only difference is the batteries: two 300Ah batteries (600Ah package) versus three 300Ah batteries (900Ah package). Both options must be ordered with the 12-volt refrigerator.
If you’re weighing your options between the 600Ah and 900Ah packages, the dinette may influence your decision. To make room for the additional 300Ah battery, Northern Lite reconfigured the space beneath the dinette, making the U-shaped dinette mandatory for the 900Ah power package. Two of the 300Ah batteries fit in the rear-facing dinette seat, while the third 300Ah battery fits in the additional seating provided by the U-shaped dinette.
The photo below highlights the system’s supporting components. From the top left, moving clockwise, you’ll see the positive and negative bus bars, transfer switch (10-2 STD, Gen Option), AC/DC distribution panel, 40A DC/DC charger, 40A MPPT charge controller, and, at center-left, the breakers for solar, DC charging, jacks, the distribution panel, and 7-way charging.

Pricing sits at $12,300 US for the 900Ah Lithium Power System and remains at $8,500 US for the 600Ah Lithium Power System.
The 900Ah option is not listed in Northern Lite’s brochures just yet, but the option is available to order through Northern Lite dealers today.
