From Yakima, Washington comes the Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition featuring an Expion360 lithium battery system, 400W solar, upgraded refrigerator, low profile AC, leatherette sofa, and more.
Adventurer Manufacturing builds both the Adventurer truck camper line (founded in 1969) and the Scout truck camper line (founded in 2020). These two camper lines are manufactured in the same Yakima, Washington factory by two separate production lines and teams using different materials and construction processes.
The design, features, and build of Adventurer truck campers skew heavily toward traditional truck campers sold on mainstream RV dealer lots. The design, features, and build of Scout truck campers skew heavily toward the Overland market sold either direct or through overland-focused dealerships.
One building—two very different truck camper lines.
Here’s the fun part. The two product lines share a single leadership team. In one moment, they’re talking about Scout products. In the next, they’re discussing Adventurer.
It’s not much of a stretch to imagine these conversations getting intertwined creating opportunities to push the two lines in new directions. In offices, boardrooms, and design stations, the contrasting concepts and features can be pushed, blended, and reimagined.
The environment is also ripe for the kind of happy accidents that invented penicillin, pacemakers, and peanut butter cups. One minute a team leader is walking through the factory with a new feature for the Scout line. He turns quickly to talk to a colleague and sticks that Scout-bound product onto an Adventurer. “Hang on a minute, Bob. Have a look at this…”
2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition
We were not privy to the 2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition development process, but there’s no doubt it’s the result of having the Scout and Adventurer leadership, design, and production teams under the same roof.
The 2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition takes one of Adventurer’s most time-tested and versatile floor plans—the Adventurer 89RB—and integrates some key overland-focused products. The result is a camper that retains its traditional truck camper features including a walled wet bath, holding tanks, and full cabinetry, and gains a few overland-leaning advantages.
Here’s what distinguishes the 2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition from the standard Adventurer 80RB:
1. Exclusive Overlander Graphic Wrap
The layered forest exterior graphics and the Overlander badging give the 2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition a decidedly more overland and premium look.
2. Expion360 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery
The 2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition comes standard with an internally heated 132Ah Expion36 LiFePO4 (lithium) battery. The Expion360 battery has built-in VHC (Vertical Heat Conduction), is Bluetooth enabled with a SmartTalk app, features a BMS (Battery Management System), and has an IP66-rated enclosure for moisture protection. This is not an available option on the standard 80RB.
3. Three-Way Fridge/Freezer (12V DC, 110V AC, or LP Gas)
In a subtle but important step up from the standard 80RB, the 2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition gets a 3-way refrigerator (12V DC, 110V AC, or LP Gas).
4. Leatherette Sofa
The interior show stopper is the 2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition’s leatherette sofa.
This decidedly premium feature adds a dose of luxury to the 80RB. Inside or out, there will be no mistaking the base 80RB from the Overlander Edition.
5. 400-Watts of Solar with Bluetooth Controller
With 400 watts of solar on the roof to charge the 132Ah Expion360 battery, you’ll have plenty of off-grid power for lights, fans, water pump, detectors, electric jacks (also included), and charging devices. This is not an available option on the standard 80RB.
6. Low Profile Air Conditioner
The next three 2025 Adventurer 80RB Overlander Edition features are options for the 80RB, starting with a low-profile air conditioner. Where air conditioning has been a mainstay in the traditional truck camper market for decades, it’s a rare feature in the Overland market.
7. Happijac Wireless Jacks
The ability to demount a truck camper is the cornerstone advantage of the product category. Being able to demount a truck camper with remote control electric jacks is so easy, convenient, and fast that it’s hard to go back once you’ve had the feature. Whether it’s the desire to unload a camper at a campsite and use the truck to explore, or it’s the need to unload the truck to get service while traveling, having electric jacks is a game changer.
8. Powered Rear Awning
With the push of a button, an awning goes out to cover the 80RB Overlander Edition entry door. No more awning rods or protruding arms. Just push the button and the awning extends or retracts.
9. JBL Flip 6 Portable Speaker
In a bit of fun, Adventurer is throwing in a JBL Flip 6 portable speaker with the 80RB Overlander Edition. The best part about this product (other than the sound) is that you can use it anywhere—inside or outside the camper. The Flip 6 two-way speaker system features Bluetooth, is IPX7 waterproof and dustproof, and offers up to 12 hours of playtime.
More Overland Cross-Overs To Come?
The Scout line has been a wellspring of overland innovation for its four years of existence. The very concept of a fully-modular production camper debuted with the Scout line and has been pushed forward ever since.
With that kind of energy flowing for Scout, we are excited to see if more overland-style design concepts and features make it over to the Adventurer line. Specifically, we’re excited to see what happens when a traditional truck camper gets infused with the extreme off-road mindset of overland. And who knows—maybe the Adventurer line could even give Scout an idea or two.
