Northwood’s 2027 Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek updates bring fresh graphics, contrasting interiors, Starlink-ready prewire, and roadside assistance if travel plans take an unexpected turn. And did we mention more solar? Consider it a sunny bonus.

Northwood Manufacturing has made significant Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek updates over the past three model years. In 2024, both lines received molded fiberglass front nose caps, 400 watts of standard solar, thermal-pane windows, and 8-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerators. Arctic Fox campers also gained a redesigned roof with more cabover headroom and storage.

The updates continued for 2025 with lithium-ready converters, air-fryer microwaves, and heavy-duty roof handles. For 2026, Northwood expanded its lithium battery and inverter options, introduced a new interior décor, upgraded the mattresses, and added the optional Arctic Fox Storage Sofa with Swing Tables. In three years, Northwood has expanded off-grid capability, improved comfort, and added more practical storage. 

For 2027, Northwood shifts its focus to sharpening the presentation, connectivity, and owner support. 2027 Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek campers receive cleaner exterior graphics, brighter countertops, contrasting tabletops, and coordinated interior finishes. But cosmetics are only the opening act.

Higher-output solar panels increase charging capability without requiring more roof space, while standard Starlink-ready prewire makes connecting at camp easier for Arctic Fox owners. And if a trip decides to throw you a curveball, complimentary roadside assistance gives Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek owners a clear place to turn.

Grant, this is your first interview with Truck Camper Magazine. Tell us about your background at Northwood and your role with the company today.

Grant: I started at Northwood in early 1999. My first role was supporting the company’s IT needs and the computerized side of production. Within a couple of years, a position opened in design, which was where I really wanted to work, and I made the move.

About six years later, I became Northwood’s Product Development Manager. I coordinate projects across design, sales, purchasing, service, production, and upper management. I also continue to do a fair amount of drafting and design work.

One of my first major projects was helping transition Northwood campers to aluminum framing and laminated construction. Northwood built a dedicated facility for the process, and I worked alongside our production team to design and build the first aluminum-framed units.

Later, we added lamination equipment and adopted a pinch-rolled adhesive process that creates an extremely durable bond and adds considerable strength to the camper walls. We eventually added a CNC router, which helped tremendously with accuracy and efficiency.

When I started, Northwood truck campers ran down a single production line in one of the trailer plants. Today, Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek have a dedicated building. It has been incredible to watch that growth and be part of the evolution over the past twenty-seven years.

Nearly three decades with Northwood says a lot. Turning to a more recent development, what has the feedback been on the Arctic Fox Storage Sofa with Swing Tables introduced last year?

Lance: The response to the Storage Sofa has been overwhelmingly positive. It gives customers a sofa, sleeping area, storage compartment, and versatile space for dining or working. The two Lagun tables can be used individually or together, then removed and stored beneath the sofa when they’re not needed. 

Grant: On Arctic Fox campers with slide-outs, the storage beneath the sofa is complemented by a long compartment inside the step leading to the sofa. Together, these compartments provide a significant amount of storage without taking away from the living space.

After two years of significant battery, solar, and electrical upgrades, where does Northwood’s electrical system stand for 2027?

Lance: Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek electrical systems are in a very good place for 2027. Starting with late September production, the 200-watt bifacial solar panels will increase to 220 watts within the same footprint. As a result, the standard solar system on Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek campers increases from 400 to 440 watts at no additional charge. Campers equipped with an optional third panel will increase from 600 to 660 watts.

Grant: There is only so much space on the roof of a truck camper. As solar technology improves, we can generate more power without adding panels or weight. Our partnership with Future Solutions (FSI) allows us to bring those advancements directly to Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek owners.

Lance: FSI’s bifacial solar panels, TBB lithium batteries, inverters, controllers, displays, and apps work together as a complete system. That gives our dealers and customers one integrated package rather than components from several unrelated suppliers. 

Northwood introduced molded fiberglass front nose caps across the Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek lines for 2024. How have they performed after nearly three years on the road?

Lance: The nose is the camper’s leading point of contact, and the molded fiberglass cap has made that area even stronger while directing water away from the front of the camper. We took our time developing the nose caps to ensure the design and installation were right, and they have performed exceptionally well in the field.

What changes will customers see on the outside of Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek campers for 2027?

Lance: 2027 Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek campers will have updated graphics with a cleaner, more cohesive design. These graphics have a distinctly fresh appearance from the moment you see them.

The new Arctic Fox graphics are set against a white exterior and include a metallic gold accent. The gold warms up the white sidewalls and gives the camper a more elegant look while still looking Arctic Fox tough.

For Wolf Creek, we retained the white exterior but replaced the maroon accents with Petroleum Blue. We also updated the Wolf Creek logo to use the same font as Arctic Fox. These are two distinct products, but the shared design language makes it clear that they come from the same Northwood family.

What influenced the direction of the new Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek exterior graphics?

Lance: We look at design trends across several industries, but the RV industry often follows the automotive market. Clean, sleek, and contemporary exterior designs are what customers are responding to, so we wanted Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek to reflect that direction.

At the same time, the graphics still need to fit each brand. The cleaner lines, coordinated colors, and matching fonts modernize both campers and create a stronger visual connection across the Northwood family.

Moving inside, how have the countertops and tabletops changed for 2027?

Lance: For 2027, Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek campers feature Isla Opal countertops and Dark Espresso tabletops. The construction remains the same time-proven, one-piece membrane-pressed material used in previous model years.

The Isla Opal countertops replace the darker countertops and help brighten the space. The Dark Espresso tabletops add a wood-grain texture and a rich color that brings warmth into the camper.

The countertop and tabletop in a home often complement each other and help break up the space. We wanted to bring that same residential approach into the new Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek interiors. The result is a brighter space that still feels warm and inviting.

Beyond the new countertops and tabletops, have the interior décor options changed for 2027?

Lance: The Moonstone, Carbon, and Kona décor choices carry over from 2026. Moonstone provides a brighter look, while Carbon and Kona are slightly darker, so they tend to be more pet-friendly.

The only other décor change is the dinette leatherette, which shifts from a blue-gray color to a darker Great Lakes Bark with subtle brown undertones. It adds contrast and complements the new countertops and tabletops.

Another new feature for Arctic Fox campers starting with September 2026 production is standard Starlink-ready prewire for Starlink Mini. What led Northwood to add it to the Arctic Fox lineup? 

Lance: More and more Northwood customers, especially those who spend extended periods off-grid, are bringing Starlink with them. We heard that across our RV lines, but perhaps even more from truck camper owners. We wanted to make setting up Starlink at camp as convenient as possible. Adding the prewire gives owners a clean, factory-installed connection for Starlink Mini on the interior of the camper.

What exactly does the Starlink-ready prewire include on Arctic Fox campers?

Grant: Starlink-ready includes a factory-installed prewire kit with a connection port engineered by Winegard. The wiring is integrated during production, giving owners a clean connection for either mounting a Starlink Mini on the roof or positioning it around the campsite for a clear view of the sky.

The prewire is currently not available on Wolf Creek campers for 2027. We will monitor the response from Arctic Fox owners, and if demand is strong, we will consider adding it to the Wolf Creek lineup in the future.

Northwood is also providing a complimentary roadside assistance program for new Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek owners. What does the program include, and how do owners access it?

Lance: The program is provided through the Northwood Smart Roadside app and includes one year of complimentary roadside assistance with the purchase of a new Arctic Fox or Wolf Creek camper. Although we are promoting it with the 2027 models, eligible customers purchasing a new Arctic Fox or Wolf Creek camper from current dealer inventory may also qualify, even if the unit is from an earlier model year.

Owners first download the Northwood Smart Roadside app and register their camper. If they later need assistance, they can use the app to request tire service, battery assistance, lockout service, or help with other roadside problems. The program can arrange towing for the complete truck and camper and connect the owner with an appropriate local service provider.

The roadside assistance is provided through our partnership with The Happy Camper. Their team has access to Northwood product information, helping responders understand the camper and arrive better prepared to assist the owner.

The goal is to give owners a reliable place to turn if something happens while they are traveling. We hope most people don’t have those experiences, but if they do, we want to help.

Have customers already used the roadside assistance program?

Lance: Yes. Customers have told us that the app saved them time and helped them connect with service providers they would not have known to contact on their own.

If the problem turns out to be warranty-related, the app can help point owners toward the right resources. They will still need to contact Northwood to start a warranty claim, but the program gives them a clear path forward and can help speed up the process.

What happens after the complimentary year? Can owners extend their roadside assistance coverage?

Lance: Absolutely. After the complimentary first year, owners can renew their roadside assistance coverage for up to three additional years at $175 per year. That is a $45 annual discount from the standard public rate of $220 per year. 

When should customers expect these 2027 updates to arrive at Northwood dealerships?

Lance: The new exterior graphics, countertops, tabletops, and interior décor updates are already part of 2027 production. The first 2027 Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek campers are shipping to dealers as we speak.

The Starlink-ready prewire is being added to Arctic Fox campers beginning with September production, while the new 220-watt bifacial solar panels will be introduced later in September on both Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek campers. Because the updates are entering production at different times, customers should confirm the equipment on a specific 2027 Northwood camper with their dealer.

Looking beyond the 2027 updates, how will Northwood continue refining its truck camper lines?

Grant: With truck campers, every change requires balancing space, weight, storage, and access within a limited footprint. One new feature can affect several other areas, so the challenge is finding the right solution while preserving how the camper functions.

Lance: The Starlink-ready prewire is a good example of how customer and dealer feedback guides our product development. We research the best solution, integrate it into production, and use real-world experience to guide future refinements across the Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek lines.
