Soaring Eagle announces new standard features for 2025 including pull-out beds, 12-volt compressor refrigerators, 100Ah lithium batteries, MaxxAir fans, camper jack and solar prep, and more. Surprise new model announcement ahead!
You may have wondered how a manufacturer decides what features to make standard in a truck camper, and which to make optional. The answer is a mix of experience and intuition. For example, if the majority of campers a company sells are ordered by the dealer and/or consumer with a specific option, that option is likely to become a standard for the following model year. Or, if a feature is believed by the manufacturer to be a strong selling point, that feature could also become standard.
The trick is to have the standard features consumers want without pushing the base camper price (or the overall camper weight) too high. While most folks want the features they want included in the base price, they don’t want to pay for (or haul around) features they’re not interested in.
As a purposefully basic and lightweight camper company, Soaring Eagle has a particularly tricky path with standard features and options. If you make too many features standard, the product could easily fall outside of two most important selling points; price and weight. Ignore what the consumer wants in a Soaring Eagle and you could turn off buyers just as easily. Tricky indeed.
Since their founding, two and a half years ago, Soaring Eagle has been listening carefully to their dealers and consumers. They also have been nurturing the simple, lightweight, and all-aluminum and composite structure concept to help become established. From the reports we’re hearing from Soaring Eagle and their dealers, it’s working.
The conversations with dealers and consumers have also revealed opportunities to advance the Soaring Eagle concept without sacrificing the value and weight they’re targeting. On that note, they have a list of 2025 model year changes to announce.
Standard Pull-Out Beds: All Adlar and OV-X Models
Above: Soaring Eagle Adlar 8.0XLS
The first update for 2025 is the announcement of pull-out beds standard on every Soaring Eagle Adlar and OV-X model. Pull-out beds effectively create a north-south bed or a much larger east-west bed.
Above: Soaring Eagle Adlar 5.0
We recently had something of a revelation exploring a Soaring Eagle 5.0 that featured the slide-out bed. On the outside, the camper looked insanely small. On the inside, the pull-out bed and dinette made enough sleeping area for three adults. Suffice it to say the pull-out bed is a game changer for the brand.
Standard Everchill 12-Volt Refrigerators: All Adlar Models
The second update for 2025 is making 12-volt compressor refrigerators standard on all Adlar models. Soaring Eagle uses Everchill 3.3 cubic foot, 12-volt DC compressor refrigerators and noted that a lot of dealers and consumers ordered Adlar campers with this feature. As the saying goes, Soaring Eagle responded to popular demand and made the appliance a standard for 2025.
Standard 100Ah Lithium Battery: All Models
The third update for 2025 is making a 100Ah Rich Solar Alpha 1 lithium battery standard. The Rich Solar Alpha 1 has built-in Bluetooth and internal heat technology.
According to our 2024 Big Battery Poll Results, our readers overwhelmingly want lithium batteries in their camper making this a fantastic choice. And if 100Ah isn’t enough for your needs, you can always add another.
Standard MaxxAir Vents: All Models
The fourth update for 2024 is standard MaxxAir vents across all Soaring Eagle models. The MaxxAir vent includes a rain sensor and a remote control.
As experienced truck campers, we would not want to camp in a model without a roof fan somewhere in the main living area. For ventilation on hot days, getting moisture out of the camper while cooking, and just having the ability to move air quickly through a unit, a roof fan is essential.
Standard Camper Jack and Solar Prep: All Models
The fifth update for 2024 is making camper jack and solar prep standard across the line. This means you (or a Soaring Eagle dealer) can easily update your standard manual jacks to remote-control electric jacks. It also means you (or a Soaring Eagle dealer) can quickly add solar panels to your roof if you didn’t order that option. Having the wiring standard is a fantastic update.
Dometic Go Faucet: Adlar 6.5XLS and Adlar 8.0XLS
The remainder of the 2025 Soaring Eagle Updates are model-specific. For starters, the Adlar 6.5XLS now comes standard with the Dometic GO faucet. I know it’s hard to believe a faucet can be amazing, but hear me out.
The Dometic GO faucet is an all-in-one faucet, pump, and power source. Put the water line into a fresh water container and you have an instant running faucet anywhere. You could literally walk down the street with a running faucet in your hands. Or, in this case, have an elegant faucet solution in a camper without the plumbing, pump, and 12-volt wiring. Simply brilliant.
New Back Corner Cabinet: Adlar 6.5 and Adlar 8.0
The Adlar 6.5 and 8 models now have a back corner storage cabinet. Any time we hear a camper is getting more storage, it’s a huge plus. I’m sure future Adlar 6.5 and 8 owners will agree.
Optional Truma VarioHeat and 20-Pound Propane Compartment: All Adlars
Turning up the heat, Soaring Eagle is making a 20-pound propane compartment and Truma VarioHeat system optional in 2025 Adlar models. From our conversations with the company, this has been an important feature to add for customers in the northern United States and Canada.
The fact that Soaring Eagle selected Truma is another indication that the company is looking to be a value leader, but isn’t willing to cheap out on quality.
The Surprise Adlar 6.0
At the Elkhart RV Open House in September, we did a double take on what looked like an Adlar 6.0. The only problem was that there was no such thing as the Adlar 6.0, or at least that was our understanding as the Publishers of some magazine completely devoted to demountable truck campers. With a chuckle, Scott Tuttle informed us that yes, indeed, they had made an Adlar 6.0 and had neglected to tell us. Surprise!
In an aluminum and composite shell, the Adlar 6.0 is basically a stretched Adlar 5.0. They built the model to satisfy folks with 6.5 foot beds and wanted to close the tailgate. If that’s your requirement, Soaring Eagle has you covered.
And One More Thing…
As we went to press, Soaring Eagle Campers informed us that they’ve decided to build an Adlar 5.5XL. Evidently, they got more than enough requests from dealers and consumers for a hard side that can accommodate 5.5-foot truck beds with the tailgate closed. The Soaring Eagle Adlar 5.5 will debut soon in TCM.
