Upgraded Propane Tank Bracket
2018 Ford F-250
2015 Palomino SS-550
I finally had enough of the struggling to put my propane tank in my Palomino SS-550. The small opening is bad enough, but the steel band bracket just made it worse. The bracket needed to change.
I removed the bracket from the camper and cut several inches off each side of the band.
I then heated up the ends with a torch and bent hooks on each end. I took a ratchet strap, cut the hooks off, and replaced them with D-rings.
With the ratchet strap removed the tank can be easily removed and replaced. Now it works much better than fighting the steel band.
It took me one hour to complete this modification and cost me $5 for the D-rings. In my opinion, the skill level of this modification is easy.
