Extended Hitch Step and Generator Box

The purpose of this mod was that I couldn’t find an aftermarket bumper that would fit my camper. With the volume of dry camping we do, I needed a way to carry the generator and some gas.
To accomplish this, I fabricated a hitch extension with a 1/4-inch by 4-inch by 6-foot bumper.
The A36 steel bumper holds a lockable generator box and a bracket for a RotoPax fuel container. The RotoPax holds the gasoline for the portable generator.
I had the typical 4×4 bumper bracket for the generator box. Attaching the bumper to the hitch extension was a great solution.
The finished hitch extension, bumper, generator box and RotoPax fuel container works extremely well for a modest price.
It took me approximately two-hours to complete this modification and cost $175. Due to the fabrication work involved, in my opinion the skill level of this modification is hard.
