2020 Lance 825

The two entry steps from our Lance 825 Lance only drop down about a foot from the bottom of the door’s threshold.  I typically have about two to three-feet under my bottom step.

Extra Step For Entry Lance 825 Camper

This makes it challenging to enter the camper unless you are over six-feet tall.  This also makes us pull really hard on the entry handles creating unnecessary stress on the camper.  I do not want to carry around a little step ladder, so I created a removable third step coming off my trailer’s receiver extension.

The step is made out of 2-inch square tubing that I had laying around my garage.  I welded the 2-inch tubing in an L-shape and then welded a thin 1/8-inch platform the same size as my other steps on top.

Then, I added holes for water drainage on the platform and painted the step with Rustoleum flat black.  Fake grass was added on top and secured with rivets.

This modification has been a game-changer.  It is so much easier to get in and out of the camper.  We even love the fake grass.  The grass blades are 1.5-inches tall and work really well at removing all the dirt from your feet and between your toes.

It took me two hours to complete this modification and cost me $20.  In my opinion, the skill level of this modification is extremely hard due to the required welding.
