Todd Kidder debuts a hard side, double-side, dry bath, gingerbread truck camper complete with M&M trim, a licorice ladder, and gum ball wheels. This could have been a contender for best camper of 2026—except for one thing. It got eaten!

It was the last straw for Truck Camper Magazine reader, Todd Kidder. This past holiday season, he was out Christmas shopping when he came across a gingerbread travel trailer kit. Intrigued, he looked for the truck camper version. He looked to the right. He looked to the left. He looked all around. No dice. As he put it, TCD—Truck Camper Discrimination—had stuck again.
Not one to complain, Todd immediately took matters into his own hands. He sourced his own gingerbread structural panels and got to work.

Loosely using his Chevy 3500 and Lance 1172 for inspiration, he designed, cut, and assembled a gingerbread truck and camper using white icing adhesive. With nothing more than tri-color M&M rivets, black licorice beams, and gum drop head and marker lights, his edible creation emerged. Slide-outs in, this rig is ready to ‘Go Anywhere, Camp Anywhere, and Tow Anything’.

Amused with Todd’s rolling gingerbread masterpiece, his family encouraged him to send it to the only online publication crazy enough to publish it. And publish it we did.

Thank you to Todd Kidder for sending in his tasteful gingerbread truck camper rig. We are concerned that the M&Ms may put the truck over payload, but we are otherwise very, very impressed.
