Doug and Tammie Baughman, organizers of the Midwest Truck Camper Group, sent in the following report and photos from the recent Midwest Truck Camper Rally in Columbia, Missouri.
“The 2019 Midwest Truck Camper Rally was held on July 29th to August 2nd in Columbia, Missouri. Many old friends and some new ones gathered.
The group arrived on Monday. That evening we had a potluck of snacks and appetizers. Doug talked to the group about the schedule for the week. That evening a group of us played board games.
On Tuesday morning we held a round table discussion about truck campers and truck camping. Rally attendees asked questions and shared ideas among the group. It was very informative for everyone who participated.
The rest of the day was free for rally attendees to do whatever they wanted to do. Some went shopping at nearby stores and others went to the clubhouse and played games. The potluck supper that evening was a buffet of sandwiches and desserts.
Wednesday morning and early afternoon were free with a 3:00pm seminar from SkyMed. That evening, a rally member smoked brisket for the potluck dinner. The rest of the attendees brought something to go with the brisket. The brisket was delicious.
Thursday morning we started off with an open house rig and modifications tour. The afternoon was free to relax and hang out with friends.
That the evening we had the raffle and more games in the clubhouse.
Friday morning was breakfast by the Wagon Masters; sausage and scrambled eggs. We enjoyed our meal and then it was time to go.
We said our goodbyes and see you next times. We had a great time and enjoyed spending time hanging out with old friends and making new ones as well.”
