Torklift has launched the first frame-mounted tie-downs for the Ford F-150 Lightning. This takes the electric half-ton one big step forward as a viable option for lightweight truck campers. Let’s plug in.
While electric trucks haven’t gained significant traction in the truck camper market, the Ford F-150 Lightning has potential, particularly for lightweight pop-up and ultralight hard-side campers. With up to 775 lb-ft of torque, standard all-wheel drive, and a low-mounted battery pack, the Lightning offers specs that suggest it can handle lighter camper loads with stability and control. Payload capacity ranges from approximately 1,800 to 2,235 pounds, depending on configuration, making it suitable for carefully selected camper setups.
Range decreases when hauling a camper. Owner reports typically show a 20 to 40 percent reduction, depending on conditions. For many setups, that translates to 100 to 150 miles per charge. With access to Ford’s BlueOval Charge Network and Tesla Superchargers, route planning is becoming easier. While some stations may be less convenient with a camper, charging infrastructure continues to expand and improve.
For anyone interested in matching a Ford F-150 Lightning to a truck camper, the need for a secure, vehicle-specific tie-down system becomes essential. To meet that need, Torklift has released frame-mounted tie-downs designed specifically for the 2022–2026 Ford F-150 Lightning. The front tie-down is part number F2034, and the rear is F3007.
Using 3D scanning and CAD modeling, Torklift engineered the tie-downs for a precise, model-specific fit. The tie-downs bolt directly to the truck’s frame using existing factory holes; no drilling required. This avoids placing stress on the truck bed or bumper and provides a secure four-point connection for camper hauling.
The mounts are built from powder-coated steel and are compatible with Torklift’s FastGun and SpringLoad XL turnbuckles. When not in use, the tie-down inserts can be removed, leaving behind a low-profile receiver tucked under the truck. This preserves ground clearance and keeps the truck’s appearance clean.
The system is fully bolt-on, includes all necessary hardware, and is backed by Torklift’s lifetime warranty.
