Torklift International announces an initiative to support the Wounded Warrior Project and invites people to share their hero stories for the Torklift International Hero Project.
To learn about the Torklift International Hero Project, we talked to Jack Kay, VP of Operations at Torklift International and Jay Taylor, Torklift’s General Manager.

TCM: Tell us about the Torklift Hero Project.
Jay: The Torklift International Hero Project is a way for Torklift International to give back and support our heroes whether they are a military veteran, parent, teacher, police officer, nurse, doctor, or really anybody who has made a profound difference in our lives.
For the program, Torklift International will donate $25 to the Wounded Warrior Project for each Torklift SuperHitch Hero sold. I am a Vietnam combat veteran. Within our chapter, we have done fundraiser work for the Wounded Warrior Project. The Torklift International Hero Project will be hugely beneficial, not just for wounded warriors, but for other charities as well.
Jack: For the first year of the Torklift International Hero Project, we are inviting people to share their hero stories with us to enter the Torklift International Hero Contest. To submit, you can either send a one minute video talking about your hero, or write something up to 500 words with a picture of your hero.
Jay: At the end of this year we will use those stories to select a person who will be named the 2014 Torklift International Hero. The featured hero will receive vacation for two to Maui. The person who submitted the winning entry will be asked to name a charity of their choice and Torklift International will make a donation.
You can send your video or written hero nominations to Torklift. We will be posting the nominations on Torklift International’s social media pages and our blog www.torkliftsuperhitchhero.wordpress.com.
Jack: Our society needs to respect the people who affect our lives in a positive and meaningful way. The Torklift International Hero Project is an opportunity to bring honor where honor is due. You can’t read these stories without being touched in an uplifting way. The Torklift International Hero Project is much more important to me personally than the trailer hitch it’s named for. I think this is something our country and world desperately needs.
Jay: We want to invite the entire RV community and industry to participate in the Torklift International Hero Project. Please send in a nomination and share with us a hero in your lives.
TCM: Truck Camper Magazine is 100% behind the Torklift International Hero Project. We look forward to seeing the videos and reading the submitted entries. Since the project runs through the end of the year, we will keep our readers posted on how it progresses.
