For 19 years, Truck Camper Magazine has been a team of two, plus a cat. That officially changes today. We are very excited to introduce you to our new team members, Eric and Sarah Hyde!

Their first-hand experience of life on the road reflects many of the real-world stories at the heart of Truck Camper Magazine. Six years ago, Eric and Sarah completely gutted a Ford E-450 school bus and converted it into a traveling tiny home. During the process, the couple documented their experiences on YouTube and Instagram under the name, “Bonafide Bus”.

Going back to watch their videos, we admired their sleeves-up tenacity as they learned electrical, plumbing, and structural work during the three-month “Skoolie” build-out. The combination of high production values, compelling storytelling, and an often brutally honest portrayal of the nomadic lifestyle immediately set Eric and Sarah’s content apart.

After the bus was completed, Eric and Sarah traveled the United States for two years camping by the ocean, between mountain ranges, and under the stars. Along the way, they also ran into what we call the “high-highs” and “low-lows” of living full-time on the road. Eventually a string of set-backs led the two to the difficult decision to sell their beloved bus, settle down, and start their next chapter. Even on the road, life happens.

Eric and Sarah’s passion for camping and travel never faded. As they began planning their next rig, they knew they wanted a platform that could take them far beyond the limits of paved roads and paid campgrounds. They weren’t just looking for a new vehicle, but something that embodied the off-road freedom, versatility, and capability they craved. That search led them to truck campers and, ultimately, to an entirely new career path.

And here’s where Eric and Sarah popped up on our radar. Working as the marketing team at Four Wheel Campers, we took note of their professionalism, exceptional creative work, and attention to detail. Together they played key roles in ushering the brand into a new digital era through high-impact campaigns, new model launches, expanded social and paid media efforts, and standout events that broadened the brand’s reach. Beyond the office, they logged more than 50,000 miles across the United States, Canada, and Mexico in a variety of demo truck and camper rigs. Remember our feature on Finding the Heart of Baja? This is one of many truck camping stories they lived, planned and brought to life for the iconic pop-up camper brand.

Then fate stepped in. Following a period of unprecedented expansion at Truck Camper Magazine, we learned that Eric and Sarah were looking for their next adventure. After two-plus years with Four Wheel Campers in California, they were searching for a way to be closer to family in Michigan while continuing to pursue their growing passion for truck camping. At the same time, Angela and I were searching for a team to help us with our growing magazine and social media work. In the blink of an eye, the answer was before us.
