Lance debuts the 1191 Slide, the highly anticipated slide-out version of its flagship 1191. Best of all, it’s fully usable with the slide-out in. Bathroom? Check. Dinette? Check. Kitchen and refrigerator? Check. Slide out for space. Slide in and keep camping.
When Lance first revealed its reinvented hard side, non-slide, dry bath flagship last September, it set a new tone for the California company. The Lance 1191 was a statement—Lance is back. With the addition of a slide-out, Lance expands on that vision, but with a clear priority: the camper must remain fully functional whether the slide is deployed or not.
With the slide retracted, owners can still access the kitchen, bathroom, refrigerator, and cabover. The slide minimally intrudes into the living space, making deployment optional rather than necessary. The result is a camper that feels just as practical on the road as it does at camp.
For those who use their camper as a mobile pit stop or roadside restaurant, not needing to deploy the slide is a major advantage. At camp, however, the 1191 Slide expands to create a more spacious living environment. Lance maintains its focus on usability and offers two seating options that take full advantage of the added space.
The balance between expanded comfort and uncompromised accessibility is what the 1191 Slide is built on. It’s not a trade-off between space and function; the 1191 Slide delivers both, exactly when you need them.

Above: The floor plan for the 2026 Lance 1191 Slide
The 2026 Lance 1191 Slide is a hard-side, single-slide, dry bath truck camper for long bed trucks. The interior floor length of the Lance 1191 is 11’11”, the width is 96″ and the interior height is 6’6″. The center of gravity is 60” from the front wall.
The Lance 1191 Slide has a 45 gallon fresh water tank, an on-demand water heater, 31 gallon grey tank, 24 gallon black tank, and two 30-pound propane tanks.
Lance is reporting the base dry weight of the Lance 1191 at 3,589 pounds without options. The base MSRP for the Lance 1191 is $60,289 USD.
Before we get into the new Lance 1191 Slide, have there been any updates to the non-slide 1191 since its February debut?
There have been a few refinements since the original Lance 1191 release. The pantry now has built-in shelving, which makes it much more usable for day-to-day storage. We were also able to go back through the design and remove some unnecessary materials, which helped reduce weight in the production version by 130 pounds.
What was involved in adding the slide-out to the Lance 1191?
The Lance 1191 was designed with the slide option in mind from the beginning. The framing was already prepared for it, so adding the slide didn’t require major design changes. We delayed the launch of the slide option until we could build and validate it, but the foundation was there from the start.
What seating options are available in the slide?
The Lance 1191 Slide features a face-to-face dinette that converts into a 79-inch by 37.5-inch bed.
How does storage compare between the standard Lance 1191 and the slide option?
The non-slide 1191 has overhead dinette cabinets and one locking pull-out drawer under the rear dinette seat. You don’t have those overhead cabinets in the 1191 Slide, but the overall amount of storage is pretty comparable.
That’s because the dinette is elevated in the 1191 Slide to accommodate the slide mechanism. That gives us room for two locking pull-out storage drawers, one under each dinette seat. It also allows for an optional bunk bed, which is not available in the non-slide 1191.
Is the camper fully functional with the slide pulled in?
Yes. Everything remains accessible with the slide-out in. You can access the bathroom, kitchen, refrigerator, and cabover without extending the slide.

The slide only encroaches about eight inches into the camper interior, so moving around is not an issue.
“Everything remains accessible with the slide-out in. You can access the bathroom, kitchen, and refrigerator—all without extending the slide.”
Accessibility with the slide in is a huge win. What’s the difference in feel between the Lance 1191 with the slide and the non-slide version?
The slide makes the camper feel more open without drastically changing how it functions. The living area feels more spacious, and there’s more width to comfortably seat four people in the dinette.

Overall, the slide makes the living space more comfortable for extended stays, especially for families.
What slide mechanism are you using?
We are using Lippert’s HappiJac under-floor slide system, which is used across all of our slide-out truck campers. Structurally, we already had the height, and this system worked perfectly for the original 1191.
The slide-out is about seventy-two inches long and extends sixteen inches out.
What is the dry base weight of the Lance 1191 with the slide?
The base weight is 3,930 pounds. The slide itself adds about 341 pounds, which is about what we expect when we add a slide-out.
Does the slide option change the truck requirements?
Like the non-slide version of the 1191, the Lance 1191 Slide is best suited for one-ton dually trucks.

What impact does the slide have on the center of gravity?
The slide actually shifts the center of gravity one inch forward, placing it at 60 inches from the front wall.
That’s going in the right direction! Does the slide affect available options or features?
No. The same options and features can be selected on both the non-slide 1191 and the 1191 Slide. The goal is to give customers more flexibility without taking anything away.
In the galley, available upgrades include a three-burner stove with an oven and a convection microwave/air fryer.

A 20,000-BTU Furrion furnace and a Fogatti water heater come standard, with an available upgrade to a Truma AquaGo for a premium on-demand hot water option.
Cooling options include either a low-profile Furrion 13.5K BTU air conditioner with soft-start capability or a Truma 13.5K BTU air conditioner with SoftStartRV. The optional generator is an Onan 2,500-watt propane unit. Other popular options include a MaxxFan roof vent, a Smart TV, Starlink capability, and a wireless backup camera with a monitor.
Exterior options include an electric side awning, the Lance Load roof rack system, and a telescoping ladder.
What is the MSRP and cost of the Lance 1191 Slide?
The base MSRP for the non-slide Lance 1191 is $55,949 USD. The slide option adds $4,340, bringing the base MSRP for the Lance 1191 Slide to $60,289 USD.
What warranty does Lance offer on this camper?
Lance Campers have a one-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and a two-year structural warranty. Installed components carry their own warranties.
When will the Lance 1191 Slide be available?
Now. Units are shipping to Lance dealers across the country as we speak.
Is there anything else you would like readers to know about the Lance 1191 Slide?
Lance was intentional in designing a slide-out option for the 1191 that does not hinder your ability to access and use the camper when the slide is retracted. This makes a huge difference in day-to-day travel.
The 1191 Slide gives buyers the option for a 1191 with a little more floor space. It’s a natural progression for the model, and we’re excited to see how people use it.
When we announced the 1191 non-slide, you teased another new Lance model. Are we getting closer to that announcement?
Yes, and there’s a lot more coming from Lance. We’ll have more to share soon about that new model, as well as our 2027 updates. As soon as we’re ready, we’ll come back to Truck Camper Magazine with all the details.
