Kingstar Launches KRUZR 10

Kingstar goes bolder with their hard side, non-slide, slide-in or flatbed KRUZR 10. Off-the-scale solar, battery, and water capacities? Check! High-end luxury features? Check! Look out, truck camper marketplace. Kingstar is going big!

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Announcement

In the hard side truck camper realm, non-slide luxury campers have been a powerful trend for the better part of a decade. Slide-out truck campers still remain popular, but there’s no denying the continued shift toward hard side, non-slide floor plans.

Another powerful trend over the past decade has been the emergence of Overland. Where traditional truck campers offer a truck-based, demountable, off-road, and towing-ready alternative to towables and motorhomes, the overland market all but ignores old-school RV categories in favor of more extreme off-road and off-grid ambitions. Luxury? Overland doesn’t want luxury. They want capability.

Which brings us to Kingstar. Blazing their own trail, Kingstar presents a range of hard side, non-slide, slide-in or flatbed truck campers that ooze equal doses of traditional truck camper comfort, and Overland capability and durability.

At first blush, Kingstars offer wow-worthy exterior and interior aesthetics with unmistakable high-end luxury through and through. At second blush, Kingstar campers are equipped with distinctly Overland-focused features including a choice of cassette or composting toilets and purpose-designed storage options for extreme off-road travel and adventure.

What’s fun is that Kingstar is steadily doubling down and finding increasing success in their unique dual-marketplace position. Their latest KRUZR 10 model extends their popular KRUZR 8 by a foot. And if that’s not enough to grab your attention, the KRUZR 10 is available as a monster flatbed with a front garage and enough solar, battery, and water capacity to stop both the traditional and overland markets in their proverbial tire tracks.

To learn more about the Kingstar KRUZR 10, we talked to Marcus Niemela, President of Kingstar Campers.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Specifications

The 2026 Kingstar KRUZR 10 is hard-side, non-slide, wet or dry bath, slide-in or flatbed truck camper made for—depending on configuration, options, and accessories—long bed one-ton dually, Class 4 (F-450/4500), and Class 5 (F-550/5500) trucks.

The KRUZR 10 can be built as a standard width (7’7″) for pickups or wide body width (8′) for flatbed trucks. The standard build has an interior floor length of 10’2″, an interior height of 6’7”, and a width of 7’7″. Before we dive into the KRUZR 10, how are things going at Kingstar?

We’ve been busy! We’ve added more team members and recently acquired 3,000 more square feet. The new team members and expansion allow us to go from two simultaneous camper builds to three at Plants 1 and 2. Plant 3 is where all the stainless and aluminum fabrication is done.

Kingstar Kruzr 10 Interior

That’s fantastic! What inspired the development of the KRUZR 10?

For many of our customers, bigger is better. Over 90 percent of Kingstar orders are for our CA/Wide Body flatbed builds.

With the KRUZR 10-Series, the customer gets 12-inches of additional counter space and more upper and lower cabinetry. The additional one-and-a-half feet of length over the KRUZR 8-Series also creates the opportunity for an optional kitty litter area, coffee station, a U-shape dinette, larger Command Center seats, or the upgraded power Command Seats.

The sleeper bunk also grows an additional 6-inches. In addition, water capacity jumps to 75 gallons versus 65 on the 8-Series and 55 on the 6-Series. On the roof, maximum solar jumps from 1,100 watts on the 6-Series and 8-Series to 1,320 watts on 10-Series for the CA flatbed builds.

The 10-Series is all about more space, more storage, more capacity, more solar. There’s also more exterior storage with our exterior flatbed boxes.

“The 10-Series is all about more space, more storage, more capacity, more solar.”

The KRUZR platform offers multiple lengths and widths, including standard and flatbed/CA versions and garage options. How do you help a customer determine the right KRUZR model and configuration for their needs?

Kingstar customers need to determine what’s most important. For example, do you want a larger habitat (inside living area), or more exterior storage? A huge decision is whether or not you want a front garage.

For example, on the 60CA (cab-to-axle) truck with a 9’4” flatbed, they could get a KRUZR 10-Series with no garage, or a KRUZR 8-Series with an 18-inch garage, or a KRUZR 6-Series with a 24-inch garage. Of course, we are here to help guide our customers through this decision process.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Fast Back

The KRUZR is available as a Flat Back (left) or Fast Back (right)

How do you advise customers on the two available KRUZR roof profiles—Fast Back versus Flat Back?

The Fast Back offers Kingstar’s signature look with a slanted rear roof. Because of that, the rear awning, Starlink, and television antenna are mounted on the rear and do not add to the overall clearance of the rig. For this reason, the Fast Back is our number one seller.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Exterior

However, the Fast Back features a three-and-a-half-season grey tank. While the coach itself is fully four-season capable—insulated with R-13 closed-cell spray foam for winter use—the grey water system requires seasonal management. In freezing conditions, grey water can be diverted away from the holding tank and discharged to the ground. This is handled quickly and easily using a built-in tank diverter.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Flatback

The Flat Back is also four-season insulated and includes a heated grey tank. By raising the roof, the Flat Back raises the entry door, creating space for a 30-plus gallon heated compartment. Folks who are winter enthusiasts—be it skiing or snowmobiling—usually opt for the Flat Back, whereas the warm weather folks prefer the Fast Back.

“When it comes to our truck camper builds, we choose wood because it’s quiet, warm and dry.”

That’s a very important distinction. Many manufacturers have moved toward composite panels or aluminum framing and lamination. Why has Kingstar chosen to stay with its current construction methods?

That’s a fair and honest question. Folks may not know that we come from a 60-plus year background of metal fabricating snow and ice removal equipment, industrial cleaning equipment, and Kingstar’s aluminum horse and expedition trailer frames.

That said, when it comes to our truck camper builds, we choose wood because it’s quiet, warm and dry. Aluminum is cold, wet and loud. Aluminum actually creates moisture inside the wall and inside the camper. Wood does not. I’m in a KRUZR 10 right now with the Truma set at 72 degrees and it’s -1 outside. There are no moisture trails showing up where the studs are. If this camper were aluminum-framed, water would be running down the wall.

In our opinion, composite panels create a visually sterile environment. Composite panel campers are cold and uninviting, like a dentist’s office. Also, the R-value of closed-cell spray foam is superior.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Inside

The KRUZR series uses thermal pane glass windows. A good portion of the truck camper industry is now using acrylic thermal pane windows. Why have you opted to stay with glass windows?

We understand the benefits of acrylic windows, but more often than not, our customers are happy that we’ve stayed with traditional dual-pane glass windows for two reasons. First, glass windows don’t fade, haze, or crack like acrylic windows do. Second, when it’s time to close acrylic windows, you’re forced to open the screen and let the bugs in.

What level of truck is required for the KRUZR 10?

The KRUZR 6, 8 and 10-Series with a garage require a Class 4 (F-450/5500-series) or Class 5 (F-550/5500-series) truck. Again, we are here to help customers with what trucks they need for our campers.

Kingstar Kruzr 10 With The Command Center

The KRUZR lineup includes multiple layouts including a Dinette, Lounger, Couch/Bunk, and Command Center. Are all of these configurations available in the KRUZR 10?

Yes, all of these floor plans are available in the KRUZR 10. Due to the extra foot over the 8-Series, we’re also able to offer a U-shaped dinette, larger swivel barrel chairs for the Command Center, as well as upgraded power seats.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 U Shaped Dinette

Kingstar is renowned for its interiors. What interior options are available for the KRUZR 10?

All KRUZR’s come with walnut counters, cabinet doors, and drawer faces. The KRUZR also features stainless appointments including the shower surround. For the interior decor, offer six different interior color palettes to choose from; Caballero, Cascade, Cimarron, Outer Banks, Silverton, and Ventura.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Command Seats 5

On the exterior, customers can choose from four aluminum siding colors; Brushed Aluminum, Matte Night (black), Matte Desert, and Matte Frost (white).

The KRUZR 10 offers one of the largest—if not the largest—lithium battery, solar panel, and electrical systems available in a truck camper. What is the base configuration for lithium and solar, and what’s the maximum possible in a KRUZR 10?

The 6, 8, and 10-Series KRUZR models come standard with 880-watts of solar, 920 Ah of lithium, and 55, 65, or 75 gallons of water.

On the standard width 10-Series, you can add an additional 220-watts of solar. On the 10-Series CA/Wide body, you can add an additional 440-watts of solar (220 watts for the 6 and 8-Series) and an additional 460 Ah of lithium.

The maximum is 1,100-watts of solar on the 6 and 8-Series and 1,320-watts of solar on the 10-Series. All CA builds can get up to 1,380 Ah of lithium. All Kingstar campers come standard with a 50-amp DC-to-DC charger.

“The 6, 8, and 10-Series KRUZR models come standard with 880-watts of solar, 920 Ah of lithium, and 55, 65, or 75 gallons of water.”

Why was it important to design such a high-capacity lithium and solar platform?

Our company tagline is “It’s Your Adventure. Bring It.” That means not only our plethora of meaningful accessories for stowing your gear, but also the internals of the camper itself including huge battery, solar, and water capacities. Our customers are not KOA campground chasers. They want to get out there and stay out there.

That speaks to nearly the whole truck camper marketplace and community. Kingstar emphasizes efficient storage and adventure-focused space utilization. What new storage or gear solutions appear in the 10-Series?

It’s not so much new storage for the 10-Series, just more of it due to the increased length. All of our accessories plug and play with any KRUZR Series camper.

Kingstar Kruzr 10 Kitchen

Tell us about your appliance selections—refrigeration, cooking, heating, cooling, and water heating—and why those appliances were chosen.

We use a Vitrifrigo 12-volt fridge, a Contoure microwave/convection/air fryer oven, a Truma Combi for heat and hot water, and a residential-style 10K BTU side-mounted air conditioner. All of these components are industry-proven leaders.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Refrigerator And Cabover

The residential side-mount air conditioner is an interesting choice. Why do you use this style of air conditioner?

Side mount air conditioners are wonderful. They add no height to the coach, take away no interior head room, avoid an ugly contraption on the roof and ceiling, and eliminate a huge roof penetration. If it breaks, it’s $300 to $400 to replace and, 30 minutes later, it’s installed.

How long can you run the air conditioner off-grid with a maxed-out solar and battery system?

That’s nearly impossible to answer due to different temperatures outside, what you like your air conditioner temperature set at, humidity, sun versus cloud cover, and so on. The bottom line is, we’re using current, cutting-edge technology—and lots of it.

Our Max Pack and Overland Pack options offer a Honda EU2200i lockable and secure storage area for back up power, and a RotoPaX spare fuel can.

Do you offer an all-electric KRUZR 10, or do you believe having both propane and lithium battery systems remains essential in 2026?

We have seen a few brands promote all-electric truck camper claims. If their units are considered all-electric, then our KRUZR models should also be considered all-electric due to our even larger battery and solar panel systems.

That said, we still believe a generator should be available in a pinch. Therefore, we provide a lockable, secure compartment for the Honda EU2200i in the aforementioned accessories.

What size propane tanks are used in the KRUZR 10, and where are they mounted?

The KRUZR 10 features two 20-pound propane tanks on the rear passenger’s side.

What are the fresh, grey, and black tank capacities of the KRUZR 10?

The KRUZR 10 tanks are 75 gallons fresh, over 30 gallons grey, and a 5 gallon cassette. We also offer composting and cartridge/dry toilets.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Command Seating 12

What is the base dry weight, and what equipment is included at that figure?

As a custom truck camper manufacturer that sells direct, no two Kingstar campers are alike. Our customers choose different accessories and options, contributing to the final camper weight. For dry base weights, our 6-Series is usually in the low to mid 3,000 pound range and our 10-Series is in the high 3,000 to low 4,000 pound range.

That said, we are a one-ton dually and up manufacturer. We tell single rear wheel owners that they will likely be over payload with a Kingstar, and will likely be over payload with any of our competitors’ campers as well. Once you factor in all of your gear, people, pets, water and fuel weight, anything less than a one-ton dually is almost always overloaded.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Command Seating 9

What does a well-equipped KRUZR 10 typically weigh?

Our largest KRUZR 10 CA/Flatbed build (84CA/11’6” flatbed for a Ford F-550), fully equipped with a garage, Max Pack/Tower, flatbed boxes, 1,380 Ah of lithium, 1,320-watts of solar, full LP tanks, and 75 gallons of water will be around 6,500 pounds. At the other end of the spectrum, a standard slide-in 10-Series will weigh in around the 5,000 pound mark wet.

Where is the center of gravity located on the KRUZR 10?

Again, due to so many accessories and options, there is not a cookie-cutter center of gravity (COG) that we can provide. That stated, the KRUZR 10 will have a COG between 36 and 38 inches. Our COG is always forward of the rear axle. We accomplish this by placing the air conditioner, refrigerator, batteries, and water tank forward in the coach.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 Wet Bath 5

What options or packages are most commonly added to a KRUZR 10?

Our more popular options include additional solar panels and a larger battery bank, Starlink, various toilet variants, side awnings, and the diesel Truma Combi. Regarding accessories, a comprehensive list of everything we offer, including visual drawings, accessory locations, and functions, can be found on our website, Kingstar.net.

Kingstar Accessories

How do you see the KRUZR 10 positioned in the market?

The KRUZR 10 is traditional with a classic profile and fully demountable design, allowing your truck to serve multiple roles when your camper is offloaded. Inside, it delivers a genuinely luxurious living space with cutting-edge components for both people and pets, complemented by purpose-built accessories that enhance the coach and support the mission. Built rock-solid from the ground up, Kingstar truck campers are engineered for serious overland use.

One thing to note is that the closed-cell spray foam insulation is not only the best R-value, but it adds incredible integrity to the structure. It becomes monolithic because it locks the framing together. The walls, ceiling, and floor are all spray foam.

What is the base MSRP of the KRUZR 10?

The base MSRP for the KRUZR 10 is $79,960.

What is a realistic MSRP when the KRUZR 10 is well-equipped?

Our base price is very well equipped. What other leading brand offers 880-watts of solar, 920 Ah of lithium, full Victron components including 50 amp DC-to-DC charger, 75 gallons of water, 13 ply cabinets, a stainless steel shower, walnut counters and veneers, and a stainless steel roof and trim—all standard?

What warranty coverage does Kingstar offer on the camper structure and systems?

Kingstar offers a two year warranty with no asterisk.

Kingstar KRUZR 10 FastBack Camper

When will the KRUZR 10 be available, and what are typical lead times?

The KRUZR 10 is available now. Orders taken now will be delivered in four to five months.

Is there anything else readers should know about the KRUZR 10—or hints about what’s next from Kingstar?

We covered it all. No hints, but we have lots of things planned in the next few years, God willing!
