Hotomobil just sent shockwaves at The Venetian, unveiling a top-secret truck camper priced in Bitcoin and targeting the Tesla Cybertruck. Wait—What just happened in Vegas?
As a magazine, we’re always looking for new ways to broaden our audience and reach people beyond the truck camper marketplace. That’s how we reach more potential truck campers and grow our community.
Hotomobil just took that same mission to the next level. First, they designed and built an all-new demountable truck camper in complete secrecy. Second, they imported their secret camper from Europe without anyone in the media having a clue. Then they unveiled their new camper at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas at the end of last month.
Under the bright lights at The Venetian, Hotomobil presented the CyberGlad, a truck camper specifically designed for the Tesla CyberTruck. And keeping with the event theme, CyberGlad is the first camper ever to be offered for sale in Bitcoin.
To be specific, the Hotomobil CyberGlad is available for purchase directly in Bitcoin with no fiat conversion required. If you have the equivalent of $66,600 USD in Bitcoin, and a Tesla Cybertruck, Hotomobil has a camper for you!
Preliminary information is a bit light, but the CyberGlad already has some impressive specifications. Like the rest of Hotomobil’s Gladiator truck camper series, it’s based on a fiberglass body for maximum strength at a minimum weight and features more than 3/4 inch of high-density polyurethane insulation.
The base camper weight is reported at 1,445 pounds (1,300 pounds for the camper and 143 pounds for the jacks), well within the 2,500 pound payload capacity of the Cybertruck. If that base weight translates to production, that leaves 1,078 pounds for food, water, and stuff.
The camper is designed to stay within the design envelope of the Cybertruck while making the interior comfortable to stand, cook, and sleep. The camper measures 9 feet 9 inches long, 6 feet 1 inch wide, and 6 feet 4.8 inches tall. The interior height is nearly 6 feet.
Speaking of the interior, there’s a kitchen, a dinette, and a cabover. The kitchen includes a sink, countertop, refrigerator, and storage. The two-top face-to-face dinette has a Lagun table system and table.
The east-west cabover is a simple affair, but pulls out to create a much larger north-south sleeping arrangement. The standard layout sleeps two. Add the rooftop tent, and it can sleep up to five. Five people sleeping in and/or on a Cybertruck? That’s bananas.
According to Hotomobil, fresh water and grey water tanks are built in, an onboard battery system comes standard, and solar panels are available as an option. Hopefully, we’ll get more specifics in the near future.
For now, we tip our hats to the European Hotomobil team for unveiling a new camper in a bold new way. We have never seen a truck camper manufacturer think so far outside the box when launching a new model.
Maybe it’s time to look beyond Elkhart and Overland Expo and try Burning Man, South by Southwest, and Sturgis. We would bet you a crypto coin of your choosing that these events would reach new people far, far outside the normal truck camper circles.
