FWC Hawk+ and CampOut Experience

It’s not every day that you get to see two new products from Four Wheel Campers. Here are our first impressions of the FWC Hawk+ and CampOut. Ultimate flatbed or modular flexibility? You decide!

In May 2025, Four Wheel Campers introduced the Hawk+, marking its first fully self‑contained flatbed pop‑up camper. Designed for full-size three-quarter and one‑ton trucks with seven‑foot flatbed trays, the Hawk+ extends the company’s flatbed design by adding six inches to the interior.

And a bigger flatbed was far from the only Hawk+ news. The model is absolutely stuffed with the best technology FWC has ever put into a production truck camper, including up to 810 Ah of lithium battery storage, a Redarc Manager Alpha 75 system, up to 500 watts of solar, a 2,000-watt inverter, and a Starlink Mini DC port. As the saying goes, this isn’t your father’s Four Wheel Camper (unless he buys one).

Beyond the power and tech, the Hawk+ rocks a 40 gallon fresh water tank, a 5 gallon grey tank, and space for a built-in cassette toilet or your choice of the portable toilet system du jour. All of the above is the recipe of a fully self-contained FWC.

Rounding off this impressive unit is a front pantry, underbed storage with gas‑assist lift, a rear dinette that converts into a bed, and 412 cubic feet of interior living space. That last figure is FWC’s way of taking it to the van market with a bigger, better, and more capable alternative. Look out, van life!

As hard side non-slide owners, it takes a lot to tempt us with a pop-up. That said, the Hawk+ gave us some seriously positive vibes. Like ‘we could do this’ vibes.

For something completely different, Four Wheel Campers was also displaying their new CampOut. Launched in TCM in February, the CampOut series represents Four Wheel’s first modular slide‑in pop‑up camper series. Offered in mid‑size (5′, 6′ bed) and full‑size (5′, 6′, 8′) configurations, CampOut offers a base dry weight starting at 860 pounds (5′ mid‑size) to 1,030 pounds (8′ full‑size).

While talking to the FWC marketing mavens, we arranged for a factory fly-by to fiddle with this new-fangled concept. We’re super excited to pull up our short sleeves and experience a CampOut.

The Hawk+ and CampOut are bold expressions of Four Wheel Campers’ diverse and evolving product line. The Hawk+ pushes the boundaries of self-contained capability on a flatbed platform, while the CampOut invites owners to define their own adventure through flexible, modular design. Together, they’re not only expanding what’s possible in a Four Wheel Camper, but also redefining what it means to be part of the FWC tribe.
