2026 Four Wheel Camper Updates

FWC announces exceptionally bright updates for 2026 and a number of important product evolutions to make daily truck camping life easier and more convenient. Light it up!

Overland Expo West Four Wheel Campers

When Overland Expo was founded by Roseann and Jonathan Hanson in 2009, Four Wheel Campers was one of the first companies to step up with serious support. As Overland Expo moved from bigger location to bigger location, Four Wheel Campers expanded their support and presence. Today, FWC occupies one of the largest—if not the largest—plots of land at Expo West showcasing both their iconic camper line and their vibrant and diverse community.

Or, as I like to think of Four Wheel Campers booth at Expo West, they bring the mullet—business up front, party in the back. Right off the main Expo path, the FWC team displays Hawks, Grandbys, CampOuts, Project Ms—and more—with trained staff ready to answer customer questions and take orders. But take a few steps past this presentation and you enter an entirely different world. Encircling the premises and parked in casual rows, you’ll find dozens upon dozens of Four Wheel Camper owners talking, laughing, and generally having a lot of fun. Party on.

At first blush, Four Wheel Camper has a relatively modest list of 2026 updates. That stated, the more we learned about these updates, the more important they revealed themselves to be. Let’s start with their brightest announcement.

Expo West 2026 FWC Updates Baja Design Lights 1

For 2026, Four Wheel Campers has added Baja Designs off-road flood lights to their option list. We purposefully waited for dusk to photograph these lights to give them the best opportunity to shine. We didn’t need to. Once these LED light cannons were on, the entire rear of the camper and the surrounding ground lit up brighter than a stadium at half-time. Okay, that’s going a little too far, but I can’t imagine needing more light at a campsite.

Look closely at the flood light photo above and you’ll see the new standard amber LED porch light. Amber porch lights are an unsung hero of truck camping as they provide just enough light to see your way to and from a camper at night without attracting too many bugs or messing with your night vision. Most importantly, this new amber LED porch light is smaller, lighter, and more powerful than the porch light it replaces. It’s unlikely that anyone will call to enthusiastically congratulate FWC for their new amber porch light, but it’s a welcome and meaningful refinement.

The next announcement was nearly impossible to photograph, but unmistakable to the touch. For 2026, Four Wheel Campers is offering a textured metallic exterior finish called Tuff Kotte Silver Frost. The FWC team explained that this new finish improves scratch resistance and durability. They also said they did their very best to scratch the living heck out of it. Did it hold up to every torture test? No, but it proved to be significantly more scratch resistant than FWC’s standard aluminum skin. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to collect desert pin stripes, but you’ll have to work a bit harder.

Four Wheel Camper down lights for 2026

Continuing with the exterior LED light theme, FWC has also added four optional down lights on the outside wing walls. These lights are not nearly as bright as the rear floods, but provide an ambient light on the truck sides and ground surrounding the camper. This would be fantastic for walking around a camper at night, or finding a camper after dark. This is one of those small things that makes an important difference in real life.

Expo West 2026 FWC Updates Screen Door Handle

For 2026, Four Wheel Campers added an aluminum grab handle to the screen door. This may not seem like a big deal until you try to close a screen door from inside and end up pulling on something not exactly designed for that purpose. Now try that same near daily activity with the new aluminum handle and—voila—a fast, easy, and effective solution that doesn’t stress the screen door. Anything that makes a camper faster and easier to use while improving its longevity is a big deal in our book.

Four Wheel Camper New Removable Hydromat

Inside the camper, FWC has introduced Hydromat marine-grade woven vinyl flooring. This removable floor material is designed for indoor and outdoor use and protects the coin rubber flooring underneath it. The Hydromat is also a little softer under foot, and looks modern in person. I can see future Four Wheel Camper owners regularly taking this material out of their campers, shaking it out, and putting it back in place.

Expo West 2026 FWC Updates Black Hexa

The final update we saw was the Black Hexa cabinet material—a scratch-resistant, moisture-resistant, hexagonal-patterned cabinetry finish. This is a more durable finish than standard wood finishes, and provides a more premium aesthetic.

FWC Camps. And Camps. And Camps.

Something that doesn’t get mentioned nearly enough is how much the Four Wheel Campers team travels and camps in their own products. I’m not talking about a weekend here or there, or something they only did because we dared them to. I’m talking about the front office rank-and-file loading into Four Wheel Camper rigs, driving to expos across the country, camping off-grid along the way, and then camping on site with their customers for days on end.

Through that process and experience, ideas big and small rise to the surface, get discussed back at FWC HQ, handed off to engineering, digitally translated to CNC machines, welded, sanded, powder coated, installed—and ultimately unveiled at next year’s Overland Expo West.

Keep on camping, Four Wheel Camper team. We can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
