New for 2026, Northwood is pushing its tech with new lithium battery and inverter options. They’re also adding a storage sofa to Arctic Fox models and a pillow-top memory foam mattress across both lines. Northwood is getting comfy and taking charge!

Northwood Manufacturing has been steadily evolving its Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek campers, fine-tuning strength, comfort, and capability year after year.
In 2024, the focus was on technology and refinement. Fiberglass nose caps, 400-watts of solar, thermal-pane windows, and 8-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerators became standard across the board. A redesigned Arctic Fox roof added headroom and storage up front, and new Carbon and Moonstone decors were added.
Then came 2025. Northwood doubled down with new exterior graphics, lighted IllumaGrip handles, and lithium-ready converters. Inside, the Wiley Oak finish gave the interiors a cleaner, more modern warmth. And they even managed to drop prices a bit in the process.
Northwood is not pulling its foot off the proverbial gas for 2026. In response to customers looking to camp off-grid more and more often, the Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek lines are getting new lithium battery and inverter options. The Arctic Fox line is also getting a new Storage Sofa with Swing Away tables that could finally put face-to-face dinettes in second place. It could happen.
Finally, Northwood has upgraded its mattress for 2026. This is probably the most overlooked element in any truck camper. Think we’re wrong? Sleep on it.
For more information about the 2026 Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek updates, we talked to Lance Rinker, Director of Materials and Marketing, and Tony Carman, Draftsman for Northwood Manufacturing.

Perhaps the biggest 2026 Arctic Fox news is the new Arctic Fox Storage Sofa with Swing Tables. Where did this idea come from?
Lance: That traces back to the Lagun table system. The Lagun has been available for many years and we’ve had it in R&D for a long time. It’s very high quality and can solve tight floor plan challenges, but we hadn’t found the right truck camper application for it—until now.
Our sales team kept asking us to put a jackknife storage sofa in our Arctic Fox campers. With that in mind, we went into our R&D bay and saw a Lagun table system. Instantly, we thought, “What if we attached Lagun table systems to the sofa arms?”
When they’re not in use, the table and legs can be stored in the sofa storage area. You can have one table up, both tables up, or none. And without the tables in place, the sofa is a great lounging and sleeping area.
The new Arctic Fox Storage Sofa reminds me of when we nailed it with the Fox Landing in 2011. It gives us a sofa, a sleeping area, a storage area, and a versatile eating and working area. Like the Fox Landing, the Storage Sofa checks all the boxes. We’re very excited about it.
Tony: The old rollover sofa was fine, but the option wasn’t utilized much. It also felt crowded with the huge table. The new Storage Sofa doesn’t feel crowded because of the placement of the Lagun tables. You have as much space as the previous tabletop, but with two separate, articulating, and removable tables.
What models is the Arctic Fox Storage Sofa option available in?
Tony: It’s available in the 811, 990, 992, 1140, and 1150. It is not available in the 865 because there’s more stored in that dinette area than a furnace.

How are the Swing Tables secured for travel?
Tony: Just tighten the Lagun cams and it locks in place. Once the Lagun is tightened, you can’t move it. It’s locked down and rock solid.
Lagun tables are amazing. They have a locking cam on the side, at every pivot point, and a locking up and down slider. You can remove the entire table and leg system and store it under the couch. Then you just have the mounting plate on the front of the sofa arms. That’s it.
Lance: There are plenty of imitators. The Lagun comes at a premium, but its quality, fit, finish, and function remain unmatched. We checked out three different table systems and the Lagun system is the best one by far. Once you start using it, its operation is very intuitive.
Tony: We also want to draw attention to the USB and 110-volt outlets on the Storage Sofa. If you’re sitting at the sofa and want to charge your phone, laptop, or tablet, the necessary outlets are right there.

Northwood has also made some significant leaps in battery technology for 2026. A new Arctic Fox option includes one 400Ah lithium battery, a C4 Touch Display monitor, and a 3,000-watt inverter. What’s the thinking behind this new package?
Tony: The optional 400Ah lithium battery and 3,000-watt inverter provide enough power to run everything in the camper including high-demand appliances like the air conditioner and microwave. While you can’t run these heavy-draw systems indefinitely, they’ll operate comfortably for several hours off-grid before it’s time to recharge through solar or shore power.

The 3,000-watt inverter is also an adaptive charger. This component delivers clean, efficient, and uninterrupted AC power through a fully programmable true sine wave inverter with adaptive charging, hybrid operation, automatic energy management, and near-instant UPS transfer. It’s perfect for powering electronics in any off-grid or mobile environment.
For customers who don’t need or want that capability, you can opt for one 100Ah lithium battery, or two 100Ah lithium batteries with a C4 Touch Display monitor. You can also just get the 400Ah battery without the 3,000-watt inverter.
Is it possible to expand beyond 400Ah in an Arctic Fox?
Lance: For the Arctic Fox customer who wants to go beyond 400Ah and wishes to customize their unit, we recommend working with Future Solutions (FSI). We developed our battery, solar, and electrical systems with them and they supply us exclusively with lithium batteries, solar panels, and other required components. We have 100 percent confidence in their team.
Tony: If you forgo a built-in generator, there is two-gauge generator pre-wire running to the generator compartment. FSI may be able to use that space and wiring.

We recently visited FSI in Elkhart, Indiana, and had their bi-facial solar panels installed. Are you using FSI’s bi-facial solar panels?
Lance: Yes. Our 200-watt bi-facial panels are from FSI. The bi-facial panels give higher energy yields than traditional solar panels, and greater durability.
Bi-facial panels capture light from both sides, generating more power than traditional solar panels by utilizing reflected light. Roof space on a truck camper is always limited, so any technology that produces more energy in less space is a win. These glass-on-glass panels are incredibly robust and built for longevity. They’re perfect for the growing number of people who want to camp farther off-grid and stay out longer.

Let’s jump over to the 2026 Wolf Creek updates. What kind of battery and electrical updates are on tap for the Wolf Creek truck camper line?
Lance: Our customers want more and more off-grid capability and packages. To answer this demand, we worked with FSI to develop even more advanced electrical system possibilities for the 2026 Wolf Creek line.
The Wolf Creek line starts with 400-watts of solar standard, with an additional 200-watts optional. For 2026, we’re adding an optional 2,000-watt inverter with a transfer switch, an optional single 100Ah lithium battery bank, and an optional dual 100Ah lithium battery system with a C4 Touch Display monitor.

Above: 2000-watt inverter in a Wolf Creek 910
Tony: Turning on the 2,000-watt inverter powers every 110-volt outlet off-grid. That’s more than enough wattage to charge computers, use a coffee maker, or run a 1,500-watt hair dryer. As long as you check the wattage, and only run one of these items at a time, you’re in good shape.
The 2,000-watt inverter will not power the air conditioner, water heater or microwave. Those items will still require shore power. We are limited to a 2,000-watt inverter due to space. Going bigger would sacrifice storage.
Lance: If you want to explore a larger battery bank, more solar, or a larger inverter, you can always take your camper to Future Solutions in Elkhart, Indiana. They helped design our systems and are experts in maximizing what’s possible. If you have an Arctic Fox or Wolf Creek featuring an FSI system, they are the perfect team to expand and enhance that set-up.

That’s a really good point. Tell us about the 100Ah lithium battery you selected.
Lance: Working with FSI, we selected a TBB brand 100Ah lithium battery. It features a high-current internal BMS (battery management system), rapid charge and discharge rates, and self-heating so it can charge in temperatures as low as -4 degrees Fahrenheit.
Tony: Lithium has huge advantages over lead acid and AGM batteries. With a 100Ah lead acid battery, you get about 50 percent of the available power. With lithium, you are getting 80 to 90 percent. It basically doubles what you can do with a 100Ah battery, and you get up to ten times the lifespan of lead-acid batteries.
The cool thing is that the TBB batteries are an FSI product and are designed to communicate with the other FSI TBB components. This allows us to tie the system together and into the C4 Touch Display monitor and the partnering app.
Lance: Partnering with FSI, we have looked at the whole package. We want batteries that, at a minimum, meet or ideally exceed what others have. We want battery, solar, and electrical components that communicate and operate effectively as a system. The FSI TBB system accomplishes that.

Above: The C4 Touch Display monitor
If you opt for dual 100Ah lithium batteries, you get a C4 Touch Display monitor. Tell us about this feature.
Tony: The C4 Touch Display monitor shows the state of battery charge, including the battery charge level by percent, the current and voltage of the battery bank, available power, and time to a fully charged battery. It also displays the time and date, and more. If you want to know the level and health of your battery system, and how much power is coming from your solar panel system, the C4 Touch Display makes this easy. And if you’re not near the C4 Touch Display, you can use the partnering app via Bluetooth.
What if someone opts for one 100Ah lithium battery? How does that customer monitor their battery and solar?
Lance: The standard Wolf Creek configuration is 400-watts of solar, so if a person opts for one TBB 100Ah it is installed with a Solemate solar controller. Both communicate through the same app.
How would you advise a Wolf Creek customer trying to decide which battery option to choose; one 100Ah lithium battery versus two?
Tony: If you’re mostly going to RV parks and plugging in, go for one 100Ah battery. If you’re mostly boondocking for extended periods of time, go for the dual 100Ah batteries. I would recommend getting more power if you’re planning to camp off-grid.

Above: The 8 cubic foot, 12-volt refrigerator in a Wolf Creek 850
Wolf Creek campers come standard with 8 cubic foot 12-volt refrigerators. Is one 100Ah lithium battery enough power for a 12-volt refrigerator?
Tony: Yes, it’s good with a 100Ah lithium battery. Part of that equation is the 400-watts of solar that comes standard with every Northwood truck camper. As long as you have solar coming in, you will not drain the battery when you are running the refrigerator.

For 2026, both the Arctic Fox and the Wolf Creek lines are getting an all-new color scheme—the Kona decor. Tell us about the Kona decor, and how it came together.
Lance: Like with most things in the RV industry, we closely follow residential decor trends to know what our customers are looking for. That’s how we developed our Moonstone (light gray tones) and Carbon (slightly darker gray tones) decors that were introduced in 2024. We’ve had a very positive response for both decors.
For 2026, we’re introducing Kona, incorporating warm brown and light gray tones. All three 2026 decors are light, neutral, and contemporary, and feature complementary textures using high-quality materials. Our customers want to customize the look of their campers and make them second homes.

For 2026, both the Arctic Fox and the Wolf Creek lines are getting the TruRest Ultra quilted memory foam pillow-top mattress. Is this an Absolute Northwood change across every Northwood model for 2026?
Lance: Yes, it is. We have our mattresses made for us to our specifications. We wanted to upgrade our mattress for 2026 by adding a memory foam pillow top. We want our customers to be as comfortable sleeping in their Northwood campers as they are at home—or better.

Can a 2025 or earlier Arctic Fox or Wolf Creek owner get this new mattress?
Lance: You could. Getting the new mattress into your camper would be the challenge. That’s why we chose a high-quality mattress. We want to provide a mattress that people don’t have to change in and out. We want our customers to have a premium experience.
Tony: I have the new TruRest mattress in my own Northwood trailer, and have slept beautifully every single time. It’s fantastic.
Wait, why don’t you have an Arctic Fox or Wolf Creek truck camper?
Lance: I’ve started talking more and more to my wife about getting a truck camper. I say, “Wouldn’t it be cool to go to national parks, see great things, and camp where we want?” When we visit our daughter in Flagstaff, we always drive past all kinds of interesting truck-camper-perfect stops along the way. As soon as our kids are out of college, I’m hoping we can get into a truck camper.
Tony: I know, it seems crazy that a camper guy would have a trailer, but my wife and I have owned a Nash trailer for years that better suited my growing family. When she saw the newest Nash model (19BS) that came out this last spring, she fell in love with the floor plan. We had to pull the trigger. She prefers a trailer over a pickup camper. I just couldn’t convince her that a camper was the way to go.
But that’s just fine by me. I have some ideas to build one for myself sometime. I think it would be a fun project, and the only thing holding me back from what I can do is my own imagination.

Keep up the good work on convincing the spouses, and we expect a full update on this most important front. Is there anything else cooking for truck campers at Northwood that we can tease for 2026?
Lance: Over the last decade, Northwood has been pushing ahead. We are committed to spotting trends and listening to what customers are looking for to improve their truck camping experience. We are working on expanding our exterior storage capacity, and a new exterior look, but that’s all I can say for now.
