The 2025 Outpost 6.5 camps off-grid all weekend and keeps it chilly with a huge standard lithium system and ultra-efficient Nomadic X2 48-volt air conditioner. This all-composite camper is beautifully modern, and seriously cool!
The spirit of young American entrepreneurship, determination, and sheer grit is alive and kicking butt in the truck camper market. Want proof? Look no further than the impressive team at Outpost Campers.
Then look at their updated for 2025 Outpost 6.5. Seriously, look at it—100 percent composite, 150 pounds lighter than their first already impressively light version, and priced to take some serious marketshare. That’s 1,475 pounds dry and $39,995 USD. You read that right.
Then get into it. The interior design is aesthetically warm, clean, and modern. And the darn thing is daring, pushing the battery-solar-electrical paradigm over the ‘can you power an air conditioner off-grid for a long time’ threshold.
We were in the 2025 Outpost 6.5 for the first time at Expo PNW, and the optional Nomadic X2 48-volt air conditioner was pumping out the off-grid cold air like nobody’s business.
Taylor Ripp, co-owner of Outpost Campers, had the X2 running all weekend at the event—often with the entry door open—and it created a cool oasis in the blazing Oregon heat. On eco mode, the unit was drawing about 336-watts of 48-volt power. And eco mode was pushing about as much cold air as our Coleman Mach on low.
Beyond the AC, the 2025 version of Outpost 6.5 got a huge upgrade of battery power with the EcoFlow 5 kW Independence Kit.
This system represents a 150 percent increase in battery capacity for the base model (approx. 416 Ah). The system also includes a 3,600-watt inverter, 60 A DC–DC charger, dual solar MPPT controllers, a touchscreen control, and more.
We visited Taylor and Outpost several times at Expo PNW and their camper was always booked. Cynics might say it was just for the air conditioning, but the conversations we heard were from serious buyers taking in this unique offering.
Want to know how American ingenuity wins in the future? Check out an Outpost 6.5 and meet their smart, young, and ambitious team. Boom. There it is.
