FINAL VOTE: 2025 TCM Calendar Contest Finalists

Thousands of votes have been cast to determine the 24 finalist images. From these photos, it’s time to pick 5—the best of the best. Choose carefully. The future calendar is at stake!

2025 Calendar Final Vote

Truck camper enthusiasts from around the world have reviewed, analyzed, and painstakingly selected their favorite images from the 2025 Truck Camper Calendar entries. From those selections, our elite team has tabulated the 24 finalists. Now comes the hard part.

Steel yourselves fellow truck campers! Your mission is to select just 5 photos from the 24 stunning photos that follow. This will require a degree of focus intensity rarely attempted in our times. Lock the doors, shut the windows, lower the dome of silence, and drink your Ovaltine. This won’t be easy. A few among us may even be lost, but the final vote must happen.

You will need the deepest commitment, and the most serious mind. For nearly eighteen years have I watched our truck camper community. All our lives we have looked away… to future trips, to the what’s beyond the horizon. Now it’s time to put your mind on where you are—on what you are doing. Adventure can wait. Excitement can wait. A truck camper craves these things, but now it’s time to vote.

Choose 5. On this, the 2025 Truck Camper Calendar depends.

Voting has ended. Stay tuned for the winners.

All 13 calendar winners will have their winning photograph and the story behind their photograph featured in the magazine. The 13-winners will also receive a free 2025 Truck Camper Magazine Calendar.

Finalist voting starts now and ends Thursday, October 24th at noon PST. Here are the 24-finalists from the first calendar vote in numerical order:

I was snapping some photos of the rig and the pups to remember the few days spent out there with some friends. Mav and Rambo (the pups) happened to pose like this and I managed to capture the scene at the right time. This was the first time that I had taken this rig out to the Alvord as I had purchased the camper only two months prior. At night in this remote area, the night sky was about as vibrant as any that I have seen with the stars and the Milky Way out in full force. It helps that this area is far from any major source of light pollution (nearest town of any size is Burns, Oregon - 80 miles by air).

The last few miles definitely required four wheel drive in spots. This is one of the few places one can see the Colorado River from the canyon rim. A lucky lottery entry at recreation.gov four months in advance secured me a permit to this scenic off-road paradise. I took this photo from a small hill near my campsite. In contrast to the usual situation, my Four Wheel Camper rig was one of the largest, best-outfitted rigs there. If I stay in a campground, I am usually surrounded by giant RVs. Here, I saw only pickups with roof-mounted tents or off-road trailers. I had a great time with great neighbors.

#096 - Steve OsburnSalmon Glacier Overlook, north of Hyder, Alaska2019 Ford F3502023 Northern Lite 10-2EXCamera Used - PhoneAn Alaska road trip from Washington State has been on our bucket list for a couple of decades. Over the years, we compiled a list of places to see and things to do, and the overlook above Salmon Glacier was added to the list many years ago. This year the trip finally happened; an epic three (plus) month trip that took us to places like Banff, Tuktoyaktuk, Denali, Skagway, and dozens of other places - including the Salmon Glacier. The road to the glacier is filled with steep grades, washboards and potholes. It's actually a road built to support mining operations which are still active today. We arrived in late August, and the fall weather was already setting in. We got to the glacier overlook and had peek-a-boo views of the glacier, but we knew that we were camped in the perfect spot that if the clouds broke, we'd have an epic shot. I got some cool photos with the clouds, but we heard that the weather was supposed to improve the next day, so we got up the next morning to see we were engulfed in a cloud and could see nothing. We waited. We waited some more. Others were at the viewpoint as well. Some, like us, spent the night, but there were many who came up that morning. They waited too. The clouds would lift a little, give us 15 seconds of view, and then blow back in. Finally, we had a solid break at about 11 AM and I got the shot I was hoping for. The slight fog that was still over the glacier just made the shot more interesting. I had to cross the street and duck behind some rocks to get our camper to look like we were the only ones there, but I liked the foreground, so that worked.

We came across this area from a free camping website. Every year we stop here to “acclimate” before heading to our property located at a higher elevation. The black eyed Susan’s were everywhere this year and the sunsets are glorious! Because of the openness of the area, it has the best rainbows, clouds and storms rolling in. Extremely quiet, but can also be very windy. Mount Blanca, which you cannot see is right behind us!

#223 - Doug AlkireIronwood Forest National Monument, Arizona2022 F250 Super Duty XLT2022 FWC Hawk FlatbedCamera Used - Sony A7iiiThe main reason I decided to purchase a Four Wheel Camper was for locations like this. For years I traveled from Phoenix to Tucson speeding down Interstate 10 and as I passed Picacho Peak, I always wondered what those craggy mountains to the west were all about. Have a small two-wheel drive hatchback the thought of exiting the highway and exploring was out of the question. Then in 2022 I took ownership of my Four Wheel Camper and have made it a mission to seek out all those far and distant locations I thought were unreachable. The Ironwood Forest National Monument is a wonderful playground sitting just south of Phoenix and just Northwest of Tucson. If you go, I would recommend early spring when the late winter rains have encouraged the landscape to bloom into never ending ranges of greens. This particular spot is at the end of a 3.5 mile tight and windy road. If you’re not into pinstripes, this might not be the place for you but if a couple of scratches cover up your other scratches, then the payoff is worth it. You and your rig will dwarfed by the majestic saguaros that carpet the landscape. The serenity is magical and the weather just about perfect (February - April). There are other out here but the space allows for everyone their own slice of heaven.

While on an extended road trip for five months this summer our family of four drove from Colorado to Alaska, and we actually drove this section of road two times, once before we went to Denali National Park and once after. The first time we drove here the weather was completely cloudy and rainy every day. There were no views. Then after a few days in the national park the skies cleared and we drove Highway 8 again. This time we were not disappointed and the views were awesome. We came around a curve and saw this view with the Alaska range covered in snow and the road leading into it. My wife Anya jumped out and ran back on the road a bit in order to get this shot of our rig heading into this amazing scene.

Our objective: The Pan-American Highway. We're driving from Alaska to Argentina in a truck camper with our 2 cats- only, we’re taking the scenic route. A VERY scenic route. And the story behind the photo? Buckle up- it might take while to get there. Our first visit to Baja was in December of 2022 shortly after our journey began, and it was love at first sight. We spent 3 glorious months camping on beautiful beaches, sometimes with nothing but waves and whales to keep us company. Eventually, we pulled ourselves away from the beach, taking the ferry to mainland Mexico to continue our journey south, but we knew we'd be back to Baja one day. It was too special to leave forever. Baja brought both of us a level of peace and joy that neither of us had known we needed. Our journey continued as far south as Guatemala before things went off track. In July of 2023, we decided to reroute back to the US. Our Northstar 850SC had some drawbacks that were getting in the way, and the canvas walls weren’t mixing with the cat claws. We spent 5 months back in the midwest selling our old TC, buying a new one, and building it into our tiny home on wheels. We made a few modifications to the truck too, like adding a flatbed to allow for more storage. On New Year's Day, we set off again with our new-to-us Northstar Adventurer 8.5, and our eyes set on Mexico. Unfortunately, our journey hit an unexpected roadblock when our truck and camper were denied entry into Mexico. Apparently, as of April 2023, Mexico is not allowing modified vehicles (like trucks with flatbeds) to be temporarily imported. Flatbed trucks are classified as
