Lance has sent us some information on the 825 prototype that’s currently showing at the Pomona RV show in California.  For starters, it’s a non-basement model designed for half-ton trucks.  Its floor length is 8’ 6” and it has a 30-gallon fresh water tank.

Two Bathroom Options

The Lance 825 comes standard without a bathroom, but offers a closet storage area with dual-pane vacuum-sealed skylights where a bathroom would be installed.

The first bathroom option is for a wet bath and shower, 6-gallon DSI water heater, and a cassette toilet.  The tanks for this option are 14 gallons of grey water and 4.5 gallons of black in the cassette toilet.

The second bathroom option is for a wet bath and shower, 6-gallon DSI water heater, and a marine toilet.  The tanks for this option are 14 gallons of grey and 14 gallons of black.

Making a Lighter Camper

Lance has gone to great lengths to make the 825 a lighter camper.  The frame uses a hybrid of wood and aluminum framing.  The trusses are wood and use Trugrit™ epoxy.  The wings and siderails are framed with Lite-Ply® wood. The walls, floor, cabover, bed floor and ceiling are framed in .062-inch tube wall thickness Alodine® coated aluminum using Lance’s LanceLock™ structure.

The floor, lower body, cabover bed, and roof are laminated, bonded, and insulated using solid block foam.  The exterior walls are laminated with fiberglass.

The cabinetry has also been made lighter by using face-frame cabinet construction, 15mm Lite-Ply®, and hollowcore flat panel cabinet doors with fingertip positive-catch cabinet hardware.

Standard Feature Highlights

The 825 features a five-gallon propane tank, a three cubic feet two-way refrigerator, a 12,000 BTU furnace, and a queen cabover air mattress with pump. Other standards include a two-burner range, laminate counter tops and tables with T-molding, single basin sink with high-spout galley faucet, and manual acme screw camper jacks.

Lots of Options

Other options for the Lance 825 will include four interior color palettes, queen innerspring mattress, extended cabover twin beds, removable carpet kit, day/night shades in cabover and dinette, sink cover, microwave oven, AM/FM/CD stereo with interior/exterior speakers, electric ball-screw camper jacks with wireless remote, and a Coleman 9000-BTU air conditioner.

The Weigh In

The dry weight that Lance has provided is 1,650 pounds based on standard model features without options.  Base price MSRP has yet to be determined.
