This week's Question of the Week is, "Do you believe in road magic?"
That's right, road magic! We did our best to explain exactly what road magic is in the introduction to Keith and Nancy River's story, "Discovering Road Magic":
"Road magic is what happens when you’re in line at a grocery store and the clerk tells you about this amazing place, just down the road, that you have to see while you’re in town. Road magic is what happens when you happen to meet someone at the end of a long hike who becomes a long time friend. Road magic is that moment when you lock eyes with an Elk in Yellowstone, just a few feet off the path. You cannot buy road magic. You cannot make road magic happen. Road magic will only come to you if you’re on the road, and open to new experiences."
Let there be no doubt that we are road magic believers. It's happened to us, many times. Now we want to hear from you. Do you believe in road magic? Can you tell us a story about road magic happening to you?

A couple weeks ago we asked the Question of the Week, "What toys do you bring when you go truck camping, and how do you store them while traveling?". Sylvie and Jake Mathis sent us pictures and a response about their solar panels and roof rack for their canoes, kayaks, and whatever else they want to bring along.

Sylvie explains, "What we have on our camper is something that did cost some at first, but overtime has paid for itself. We have two beautiful solar panels that are eighty watts each. Yes, it's wonderful to be independent. Also on our roof, we have a Fantastic Fan and an escape hatch that is 24" x 24", situated over our bed, which gives us plenty of fresh air. We also have a Cub Coleman air conditioner that is sufficient for our truck camper and it requires only fifteen amps. We can run the Cub Coleman air conditioner with our 2000i Honda generator."

Sylvie continues, "We have a great canoe, kayak, sunfish spars, and/or boom carrier that is great. Many people ask us how we put our canoe up there. The answer is using the back ladder on the camper or by using the escape hatch. Voila!" |
